Czech carmaker Skoda has completed its Octavia RS line by taking the wraps off its latest iteration of the Skoda Octavia RS. The new age Octavia RS sedan looks quite similar to the fourth-gen model which made its debut earlier this year. However, the all-new 2021 Skoda Octavia RS does feature some signature cosmetic elements which making Skoda’s performance-based model look more aggressive and bold than the standard model.
So let’s see what has been added to the 2021 Octavia RS which the previous-gen lagged!
Skoda’s most powerful Diesel Engine till date
The new age Skoda Octavia RS is offered with three powertrain options- 2.0-litre TSI turbo-petrol, plug-in hybrid RS iV pairs a 1.4-litre TSI turbo-petrol mill both generating a combined system output of 245hp.
Now coming to what the heading says, the new Octavia RS also gets a 2.0-litre TDI diesel unit capable of generating an impressive 200hp while paired to an all-wheel-drive option. The new performance rating on the diesel engine makes it the most potent engine mill in Octavia’s history.
Talking about transmission all the three engine variants will come mated a standard 6-speed manual and an options 7-speed DSG dual-clutch automatic gearbox. Additionally, the plug-in hybrid gets a 6-speed DSG unit. All versions also come with a standard front-wheel-drive system, while the diesel variant gets an optional all-wheel-drive layout.
Revamped Dynamics
Almost every performance-based Octavia comes fitted with a standard progressive steering system along with an RS sports suspension making the car almost 15mm lower from its original height in the non-electrified models.
However, Skoda also offers an optional ‘dynamic chassis control’ function allowing the driver to adjust the suspension, steering and DSG characteristics through the drive mode selector. Furthermore, the petrol and the plug-in hybrid variants also have an additional electronic limited-slip differential to improve traction.
New Updates on the outside
As usual, Skoda still continues to offer all of its RS variants with dynamic styling updates both on the inside as well on the outside giving it a more dynamic look and aggressive character. the new-age 2021 Skoda Octavia RS has a more streamlined body with a blacked-out front grille, additional air dams, wing mirrors, rear diffuser and boot-lip spoiler, front and rear parking sensors and keyless entry and go.
It also features a new set of 18-inch alloy wheels which can be upgraded to massive 19-inches if you wish to transform your car into a beast. Additional features include red brake callipers and Skoda’s signature ‘vRS’ badging on the front grille and the rear tailgate and Full-LED matrix headlights.
New updates on the inside
Coming to the inside we will get to see a plethora of new features ranging from an optional Alcantara and leather seat upholstery, although Skoda does offer a Front sports seats with fabric upholstery are available as standard why settle for less when you can splurge.
Moving on the new 2021 RS will also feature multi-functional three-spoke steering wheel with paddle shifters, carbon-effect accents on the dashboard and aluminium pedals, a 10-inch touchscreen infotainment system, adaptive cruise control, 10.25-inch Virtual Cockpit instrument cluster, electric boot, three-zone climate control, and a customisable drive mode selector and LED ambient lighting.

Will we get to see the 2021 Skoda Octavia RS in India?
Additionally, Skoda is also working rigorously to bring other revamped version of the standard Skoda Octavia scheduled to launch in early 2021. The brand is also all set to launch the BS6 version of the Kodiaq SUV set to launch later this year.

Reports also suggest that Skoda could be working on a replacement for its ageing Rapid lineup scheduled to make its entry sometime next year under the VW Group’s ambitious India 2.0 project.
