Well, we all are somewhat aware that Toyota has been working on bringing a new generation of the brand’s super SUV, The Land Cruiser. It is also believed that to make its global debut by the end of this month.
And with just a few days to go some major specification of the new super SUV have surfaced on the internet. These leaked documents reveal the engine specification as well as the number of variants.
What will power the new Land cruiser?
- Well, according to the leaked document, the new super SUV will be offered with 2 engine options.
- A 3.3-litre V6 diesel and a 3.5-litre V6 petrol unit.
- Both units produce 300HP @ 4,000 rpm with 700 Nm at 1,600-2,600 rpm and 405HP @ 5,200 rpm with a peak torque of 650 Nm at 2,000-3,600 rpm.
Any Other updates?
- The 2022 Land Cruiser will also be offered in 3 trims- GX-R, GR-S and ZX.
- The ZX trim (Petrol) is expected to hit showrooms by end of July.
- While the diesel trims GX-R, GR-S will hit dealerships by September of this year.
- It is speculated to come equipped with a large 12.3-inch floating touchscreen infotainment system backed by the latest smartphone connectivity.
- We might also get to see features such as ventilated seats, automatic climate control, wireless Andriod Auto and Apple CarPlay, differential lock, lane support, 4WD mode and adaptive cruise control.
- One of the major changes on the inside might include a Push Start/Stop button with a fingerprint scanner.
- That’s not all, the 2022 iteration will have 10 colour options.
- These include- Glacier White, Pearl White Metallic, Classic White, Satin Silver Metallic, Graphite Grey Metallic, Ruby Metallic, Black, Attitude Black, Avante-Garde Bronze Metallic and Moonlight Ocean Metallic.
When will it launch in India?
Looking at the current scenario and Toyota past experience with the Land cruiser series, it is hard to predict whether the Japanese will re-introduce the super SUV in India anytime soon.
