What is an Engine Mount?

Simply put, an engine mount is a component that secures an engine into the machinery and absorbs all kinds of vibrations and shocks that are induced while the vehicle is operating. The engine mount is primarily built with anti-vibrational materials that are essential for preventing engine damage that can be caused by the constant operation and movement of the engine itself.

Symptoms of a Failing Engine Mount

1. High NVH (Noise, Vibration, Harshness)
   

   

   Since an engine mount is responsible for keeping your engine in place, one of the most common symptoms of a failing engine mount is higher and more intense vibration.    In addition to vibrations, a damaged mount also causes heavy jerks and jolts when you change gears, as the transmission too is attached to the engine unit. This jerk can be noticed at higher speeds, or simply when you change gears. Nonetheless, if you notice that your ride isn’t as smooth as it used to be, or is bumpier than before, then it is possible that your engine mounts need a replacement.

   Another common symptom of a bad engine mount is the mechanically weird noises that the engine makes while it runs.
