6 Upcoming Tata Cars Launching In 2022

Tata is on a streak since the second half of 2021. For one, Tata surpassed India’s second carmaker in terms of sales. Not just that, Tata has always favored safety over any other aspect of a vehicle. Hence, Tata is getting a lot of positive appreciation versus the carmakers supposedly that make tin cans. With that said, we are already into the third month of 2022 and no new launches from Tata, apart from special edition vehicles. Well, we think Tata has decided to launched the best late this year. So, let’s have a look at 6 cars that we anticipate will be launching in 2022.

  1. Updated Tata Nexon

Let’s start the list with Tata one of the best-selling vehicles that were a prime vehicle that aided the company’s sales in India, Tata Nexon. Updated in 2020, Tata Nexon got even better with time. Well, with technology advancing like crazy, Nexon is still stuck in 2020. Not to worry because there are hopes.

Recently Tata launched the Kaziranga edition of the Nexon. Let me tell, you the changes in this edition of Nexon are not just cosmetics. With the Kaziranga edition, Tate has added a few new features. These finally include ventilated seats and an inbuilt air purifier. The same changes will also make it to the updated Tata Nexon launching this year.

  2. Tata Altroz EV

One of the most anticipated vehicles we might finally see in 2022, is the Tata Altroz EV. Possibly one of the most value-for-money vehicles in the Indian hatchbacks is the Tata Altroz. Belonging to the premium hatch segment it offers a great deal. What might make the deal even further mouth-watering is the electric powertrain in the Tata Altroz.

Showcased at the last Auto Expo, we are eagerly waiting for this hatch. For one it will be the most affordable all-electric hatchback in the country. With its launch, Tata Altroz will become one of the sought-after city commuters. We expect the Altroz EV to feature a slightly detuned powertrain that comes with the Tata Nexon EV. For reference, Tata Nexon gets a 129ps motor that generates 245Nm of peak torque.

  3. Tata Safari/ Tata Harrier (Petrol)

The premium SUVs from Tata, Harrier, and Safari are a great choice but both of them lack a petrol engine. With the competition offering the same, this could definitely be a deal-breaker at least for the one buying the vehicle in Delhi NCR, where the diesel vehicles out of the showroom can only ply for 10 years.

But the wait might just be over. For those wanting to buy petrol, Tata Harrier or Tata Safari might be launched with a petrol powertrain. Additionally, there have been instances where a Tata Safari has been spied with a pollution check kit. Well, that most likely be the one with a turbo petrol engine waiting to be launched in 2022.

  4. Tata Altroz DCT

The premium hatchback segment is led by Tata Altroz’s arch-rival and the super expensive vehicle Hyundai i20. Where i20 scores big in features, Tata Altoz scores wonders in the Global NCAP crash test ratings. But apart from that, there is another difference, Altroz does not get an automatic transmission, i20 gets two, a DCT and a CVT.

Well, there has been speculation of Tata Altroz getting a DCT. Well, we do expect the carmaker to launch the hatchback with a full flight automatic and not an AMT. That said, anticipate Tata to launch the Altroz Automatic sometime this year.

  5. Tata Punch Turbo

Another vehicle that might be updated this year is the Tata Punch. Punch was launched in the second half of 2022, Punch just dominated the sales charts that following month. Again Tata Punch is not just a value for money product but also safe. If you are not aware, Tata Punch scored full 5 starts in the Global NCAP.

Here are the 8 Features We Find Missing In The Tata Punch

Additionally, it is the safest vehicle one can buy in the Indian market, after Mahindra XUV700. But rather than a feature or cosmetic update, we expect Tata to come up with a turbo petrol engine. This turbo petrol engine also powers a whole lot of cars from the Tata’s line-up. It is a 1.2-litre MPI turbo petrol engine. In Punch, this engine might sit in the same tune as Altroz. That is, 110ps max power and 172Nm of peak torque.

These were the 6 cars that we think Tata might be launching in 2022. In the comment section, let us know which Tata vehicle among the list, you are most excited about.
