July is turning out to be the month for new launches as just yesterday Japanese carmaker Honda has launched the BS6 iteration of the Civic sedan. The all-new 2020 Honda Civic BS6 will be available in two trim levels- VX and the fully-loaded ZX variants. Additionally, the BS6 updated version has also received a subtle price hike of Rs 20,000 for the VX variant while the prices of the ZX variant still remains the same. So without wasting any more time lets see what all does the all-new 2020 BS6 Honda Civic has to offer.

Apart from a minor price hike and BS6 up-gradation, almost everything remains the same. So if you are planning to buy the new 2020 BS6 Honda Civic diesel, you will have to pay ₹20.75 lakh for the VX variant which has receiver a Rs 20,000 price hike and ₹22.35 lakh of the fully-loaded ZX variant. The only change on the new upgraded Honda Civic is that its previous 1.6-litre turbocharged diesel engine capable of generating 120hp with 300Nm of peak torque has been upgraded to the BS6 emission norms. The upgraded turbocharged diesel unit comes mated to a 6-speed manual gearbox.

It is expected that when switching from the previous BS4 to the new BS6 the 2020 Honda Civic diesel will have a lower fuel efficiency of 26.8 kpl which is 2.9 kpl lower than its BS4 compliant version.
The feature list on the new Honda Civic remains the same and hence comes equipped with the same 7.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, ambient lighting, automatic LED headlights with LED DRLs, rain-sensing wipers, an electric sunroof, leather upholstery, powered driver’s seat, dual-zone climate control, auto-dimming rear-view mirror and many more. It has been equipped with a segment-first lane watch camera system which enhances the safety of the occupants.
Coming to safety the updated Civic still remains one of the safest premium sedans in India with features like six airbags, ABS with EBD, lane-keeping assist, agile handling assist, HSA (Hill Start Assist), walk-away auto-lock etc.
Coming to its rivals, just as before, will continue to rival the likes of the Hyundai Elantra, Toyota Camry and the upcoming 2020 Skoda Octavia.
