MG revealed Hector this year in the Indian market. The Hector proved to be a big opening for MG Motors in India. The company got an overwhelming response as the Indian audience booked nearly 28,000 units of the Hector SUV. Now, MG Hector facelift has been spotted in Ahmedabad.
- The new Hector is likely to get a set of new headlamps and the taillights. The spied images suggest that the facelift could get revised LED Daytime Running Lights (DRLs). It appears that the new LED DRLs have been housed inside silver inserts.

- At the rear facelifted Hector can be expected to get a redesigned rear skid plate with chrome inserts in the shape of exhaust tips. The taillights also appear to be revamped.
- Looking at the side profile of the facelifted Hector, no major up-gradation has been done in the design. Although it was expected that the facelift could get bigger wheels which can complement the relatively huge proportionate body of the Hector. This was not found in the test mule.

- The MG Hector is powered by a 1.5-litre, 4-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine that churns out 141hp of power and 250Nm of peak torque and a 2.0-litre diesel with 168hp of power and 350 Nm of peak torque. The petrol hybrid variant uses a 48-volt lithium-ion battery that offers an additional 20 Nm of torque assistance when required. Transmission options include a 6-speed manual and a 6-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission.
The SAIC-owned British-origin brand is gearing up as it has already offered MG ZS EV to the Indian market and is all set to launch six-seat version of Hector which will be based on the MG Baojun 530 SUV, an MG offering in China.

When launched, it will have to compete with Tata Gravitas and the very beloved Mahindra XUV500.
