British sportscar maker Mclaren has been rigorously working on their one of its sports prototype the ‘Speedtail’ or to some ears the XP2 was recently tested to our amazement was able to achieve a top speed of more than 400kph on the three-mile runway at the Johnny Bohmer Proving Ground in Florida.
Altogether confirming its status as the fastest car ever built by Mclaren as of now. The title was previously owned by the iconic F1 hypercar which was able to achieve a top speed of 372kph following its launch in 1994.

Although the company is calling the Speedtail an Rs. 16.2 crore the company’s expertise in lightweight engineering. At the launch event of the Mclaren Speedtail the company’s CEO Mike Flewitt, said: “The Speedtail is a truly extraordinary car that epitomises McLaren’s pioneering spirit and perfectly illustrates our determination to continue to set new benchmarks for supercar and hypercar performance.”
On the mechanical front, the Mclaren Speedtail features a 1,070hp petrol-electric powertrain, Mclaren also claims that the battery pack density on the Mclaren Speedtail has a power density of 5.2kW/kg giving it the best power to weight ratio for any given automotive high-voltage battery system.

With the testing being completed the Speedtail has been officially the production at the company’s Woking factory and is said to have slated the delivery of more than 100 units from February 2020.
However, the hypercar is the company’s first hybrid model since the 800hp Mclaren P1 and its first three-seater since the F1. The Speedtail also supports the longest wheelbase production car to come out of the Woking.
