It’s time for your car to say ‘Hi Alexa’ India’s largest Online Store Amazon India on Tuesday launched the very first smart auto assistant for your car the “Echo Auto” device which will be able to connect to the stereo of your car for audio playback on the go.
As per company officials the Amazon echo auto has already gone up for sale and is available for pre-order for just Rs. 4,999 and will be up for delivery from 15th of January. For those of us who really feel the need to skip the phone hassle while driving you can also pre-book your Alexa here.

The Amazon echo auto comes equipped with a eight-microphone array specially designed for in-car acoustics and speech recognition. Well this simply means that Alexa can now hear us over music, AC and acute traffic noises.
The Amazon echo auto will connect to the car stereo with the help of a 3.5 mm auxiliary cable or through the cars bluetooth connection. The device will be able to connect via the Alexa app using your existing data plan in order for you to stream music, make calls or send messages.
Much similar to the other smart devices the Amazon echo auto supports multiple layers of privacy protections including a mic on/off button which automatically disconnects the microphones
Amazon also claims that the customers will have the access over all of their voice recordings via the Alexa Privacy Setting in the Amazon Alexa App.
