Take a look at this list of 10 bike accessories for your bike that will help you in your next ride to the mighty Himalayas!
-
Mobile Holder and Charger
Finding out routes on rides is definitely a hassle. Constantly stopping and taking out your phone to take a look at maps just consumes too much of our precious time. A Mobile Holder is a perfect solution for this, simply mount your phone onto it and you’ll have directions right in your sight. Many mobile holders now come with a built-in charger, which is also very useful since constant use of GPS and direct sunlight tend to drain the phone’s battery quickly.

Puncture Repair Kit
Being stuck with a puncture in the middle of nowhere is every biker’s nightmare. Carrying a pocket puncture kit will give you some peace of mind, and a definite solution in case of a puncture. These kits make it really simple to fix punctures on your tire and continue your ride flawlessly.
-
Tank Bag
Long rides mean heavy luggage. While most experienced riders try to travel as light as possible, some rookies often fall prey to carrying unnecessary luggage. A tank bag is one really convenient way of storing the luggage that you might need while riding. Things like your sunglasses, water, visor cleaner, phone, earphones, camera, etc. can be kept in the tank bag for easy access.
-
Extra Lights
The National Highway Authority of India has made a tremendous effort in lighting up our highways. However, the mountains don’t get enough lights due to a lack of space and resources. These roads can get pitch dark during nighttime, so having an extra pair of lights is very helpful. These lights coupled with the bike’s stock headlight will light up your path and keep you safe!
-
Radiator Guard
The mountains have very long stretches of off-road. These patches are full of mud, dust and slush. All of this dust and slush might get stuck to the radiator and hamper its functioning. If your radiator fails, the bike will overheat and it might lead to bigger problems. So be sure to get this bike accessory before your ride, and also keep cleaning the radiator every alternate day while riding.

Hazard Lights
There are very few bikes in the market which come with hazard lamps as a pre-installed feature. While it is not extremely necessary, it is good to have bike accessories. In situations like heavy rainfall or dense fogs, these hazard lights will help others drivers on the road spot your bike from a distance and avoid any mishaps.

Jerry Cans
Jerry cans are often carried by bikers who like exploring off-beat places. These store up extra fuel just in case your bike runs out and there’s no fuel station nearby. Carrying jerry cans to a Ladakh ride is recommended as there are long stretches where you can’t find stations for as long as 350Kms.

Waterproof Luggage Covers
If there’s one thing we can be certain of about the mountains, it’s the uncertain weather. You can literally be riding in bright and warm sunlight and 2Kms ahead you might be in the middle of a snowfall. So carrying waterproof luggage covers is extremely important for keeping your clothes dry.

Handlebar guards are a very good source of protection, not only for your hands but also for the easily breakable clutch and brake levers. Apart from providing safety, these handlebars guard also help your hands stay free of the cold Himalayan winds to some extent!

A Loud Horn
We all are aware that the mountains are full of sharp and steep turns all over. With constant oncoming traffic, blowing the horn at turns is a necessity. Sometimes, large vehicles like trucks and buses tend to ignore the horns coming from 2 wheelers.
