Car Sales Report January 2021 | Maruti Suzuki Stands Unchallenged!

January 2021 – a month which was expected to be a ray of hope after the nightmare year was over. Well, we are already through the first month of 2021 and the results are here. In this article, we will see how the Indian automotive industry did in the first month of this new year. Here is the car sales report – January 2021. By this time, it’s not difficult to guess that Maruti Suzuki will be on the top of the chart but here we will see which brands are among the top 10 selling car brands in the last month.

  1. Maruti Suzuki India Limited (1,39,002 units)

    India’s favourite car brand – Maruti Suzuki ended up the first month of the new year with a sale of 1,39,002 units. This number might seem quite impressive but just to let you know Maruti faced an MoM drop of 1%. This is a very small number but considering its Maruti, every unit matters. The good news is that MSIL is the only brand that sold over lakh units in the last month

  2. Hyundai Motors India Limited (52,005)

    The Korean automaker ended up January 2021 with a sale of 52,005 units. This is less than half of what MSIL sold in the same month but is an impressive figure for Hyundai. Although the new launches like the i20 and the Creta have paced up the sales a bit, the older gems like Aura and NIOS continue to sell in equally impressive amounts.

  3. Tata Motors (26,980 units)

    The Indian automaker is slowly gaining popularity in the market. However, they still ended on the third place in the car sales report in January 2021. Tata Motors sold a total of 26,980 units. We hope the Tata Safari pushes their sale number for February 2020. Safari launches on 4th February 2021!

  4. Mahindra & Mahindra (20,498 units)

    Another Indian automaker who is developing safe cars in India. Be it the XUV300 or the Marazzo, these brands are never giving up on safety. The upcoming XUV500 also looks quite promising and we hope they launch it soon to gain a push in the sales. For the car sales in January 2021, Mahindra ended the month with 20,498 units.

  5. Kia Motors (19,056 units)

    A brand which gained popularity so swiftly that even Maruti feared its existence at a point! The Kia Sonet and the Kia Seltos took over the Indian market and delivered excellent sales in a very short span of time.   6. Honda Cars India (11,320 units)

    At the 6th place on our car sales report in January 2021, we have the Japanese brand which has gained the audience’s trust in India. Honda Cars India ended January 2021 with a sale of 11,320 units which is a considerable drop from the 5th place if we consider the stats in the chart. We hope Honda brings in something good to make a good comeback in the market really soon.

  7. Toyota Kirloskar Motors Ltd. (11,126 units)

    Fortuner and Innova are the ones which contribute majorly to Toyota’s sale in India. Toyota ended up the first month of the new year with a sale of 11,126 units. analysing the stats we can easily say that Toyota can do wonders if the Urban Cruiser and Glanza get good sales anytime soon.

  8. Renault India (8,209 units)

    This car brand is also among the top 10 selling car brands in January 2021. Renault has just launched the new Kiger which will definitely be a good competitor in its segment. Nissan Magnite was already going places and now the Kiger is here to be a very good competition in the market. Let’s see if this machine is able to push Renault’s sales in the coming month. For January 2021, Renault ended up selling 8,209 units.

    On the 9th place for car sales report in January 2021, Nissan ended the month with a sale of 4,527 units. This number is quite decent considering its Nissan.   10. Ford India (4,141 units)

    The might American brand has finally landed in the top 10 once again! Beating MG India this time, on the car sales report January 2021, we have Ford at the 10th place. With a sale of 4,141 units, Ford did pretty well in January 2021.

We hope 2021 proves to be a great year for the Indian automotive industry.
