In recent times, ADAS has become a feature everyone looks for in a car. The Mahindra XUV700 started off with this trend in a very competitive segment. The XUV700, Honda City HEV, and the MG Astor are the only 3 cars that currently offer ADAS in under Rs. 25 Lakhs. Apart from this, currently, only 2 other cars have ADAS under Rs. 50 Lakhs, the MG Gloster, and the Hyundai Tucson. With technology evolving ever so rapidly, we believe it is time for more cars to have this feature at a lower cost. Here are some cars that must have ADAS to survive the competition.
-
Hyundai Creta/Kia Seltos
The Korean twins are first on this list of cars that must have ADAS because they have always been known for their features. Both these cars are always equipped with the latest tech and are even the first ones to introduce features like ventilated seats in their segments. However, they still do not get ADAS. The 2022 Creta which was revealed in Indonesia does get some ADAS features, but it’s not launching in India anytime soon. The price point at which these cars come in, ADAS is a must-have for them. Moreover, considering safety ratings, these SUVs are in dire need of some good crash-preventing features!
-
Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara/Toyota Hyryder
The Vitara and the Hyryder are the newest cars on this list of cars that must have ADAS. Both have launched in India very recently and have a lot to offer, except for ADAS. These hybrid SUVs are now crossing the Rs. 20 Lakh mark on the road, and they still don’t get any ADAS features. They are playing strong on the hybrid and mileage front, which is very attractive to buyers in India. Knowing Maruti, it will not be introducing ADAS in any of its cars anytime soon. This is a brand that finally offered a sunroof in 2022 for the first time, so ADAS is still very far away.
-
Toyota Innova
The king of reliability and an excellent highway cruiser, the Innova is the most deserving candidate on this list of cars that must have ADAS. The Innova is the most commonly sighted car on Indian highways and is a pure mile muncher. With this kind of usage and running, the Innova needs to have ADAS to increase passenger safety and convenience. This MPV is also quite expensive, coming in at Rs. 31-34 Lakhs depending on the state, the price is definitely not economical. The Innova doesn’t offer a lot of features even at this price, nor does it have a plush leather-filled cabin. This is primarily because this MPV is focused on ride comfort and reliability. However, ADAS is a no-nonsense feature that this car can definitely use.
-
Jeep Compass
A true American, the Jeep Compass also comes up on this list of cars that must have ADAS. The Compass has been in India for a very long time now and it has definitely evolved. Jeep has added features updated the interiors, and exteriors, and made the car more luxurious. However, they have also made it very expensive. With prices going up to Rs. 35 Lakhs on road, the Compass is not a common car anymore. Even with this kind of pricing, it doesn’t get a single ADAS feature in India. On the other hand, the Hyundai Tucson gets Level 2 ADAS, and it is a better, more powerful, and more luxurious SUV when compared to the Compass.
-
Tata Harrier/Safari
The Harrier and the Safari are the flagship products of Tata. Both these SUVs have evolved over the last few months and have been given all the necessary features. For a brand that focuses so much on safety, Tata has not yet added ADAS to any of these cars. These SUVs directly compete with the XUV700, and ADAS is the one thing that they miss out on. Moreover, both these cars are exceptional on the highways, and ADAS will definitely be a much-appreciated feature here. With the next update for the Harrier in the works, ADAS is very much expected on this car now.
