Imagine the brilliant package of the Renault Duster is offered in an equally capable 7-seater package. Exciting isn’t it? Well, we are as excited as you are, because Dacia; the sub-brand of Renault in Europe has recently unveiled the Dacia Jogger, which is being dubbed as the 7-seater version of the Renault Duster. And even though there is no news of the Jogger Launching in India, here’s why an Indian Launch would make a lot of sense.
The Looks that Kill
Blending in the practicality of a MUV with the styling of an SUV, the Dacia Jogger looks like a work of art. Based on Renault’s CMF-B platform, the Jogger, unlike the Triber here in India is truly a 3-row family car with a suitable length of 4547 mm, and a spacious wheelbase of 4897 mm. The Jogger also gets some rugged SUV inspired touches such as a high ground clearance of 200 mm along with prominent cladding, sculpted bonnet, Y-Shaped LED DRLS and Headlamps along with a raked back windscreen. The vehicle also gets large quarter panels and vertical taillights for the third-row seats.
In terms of what the Dacia Jogger offers, if and when the vehicle is launched in India, it will possess the best in segment wheelbase as well as ground clearance that is indeed a sure ingredient to disrupt the competition.

Maximum Practicality and Features
When it comes to practicality, it is Dacia’s strongest USP. With multiple seating options and layouts, the Jogger is practical and we mean it. The middle row of the vehicle offers a 60:40 split, with each section compatible to be tumbled forward to access to the third-row seating, which too can be folded in a 50:50 ratio. This means that the vehicle offers 213 litres of boot space with all seats up, 712 litres with the third row folded and a massive 1819 litres with the middle row folded as well.
Feature-wise as well, the Jogger offers stuff like a floating 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system, a 3.5-inch MID integrated within the cluster, automatic AC, wireless Apple Car Play and Android Auto as well as body-sculpted seats etc. This means that if the Dacia Jogger arrives in India, the likes of Innova Crysta as well as even the Fortuner too will be threatened quite a bit, with competitors like the Ertiga will be directly outranked.
Powertrain
Talking in terms of power, Dacia will offer the Jogger a 1-litre turbo-petrol (110PS and 200Nm) engine. This means that the Jogger will be 10PS and 40Nm more equipped than the Renault Kiger which also features the 1.0-litre burner. And that’s not all the Jogger also gets idle start-stop function as standard even with the LPG powered variant. What’s more is the fact that in 2023, the Jogger will also arrive in a hybrid avatar with a 1.6-litre burner along with two 1.2 kWh batteries. This means that everything about the Jogger is a sure shot ingredient to disrupt the competition. But this will only be possible if the Jogger arrives in India.
So this was all about the Dacia Jogger and why it would be a perfect product for the Indian market. Stay pinned to the GoMechanic blog for everything automotive.
