With the onset of the Covid-19 pandemic, travelling has become a huge issue for us. People are just not feeling safe travelling in Flights and Trains, or any public transporting means for that matter. This doesn’t mean that we should stop exploring though. More and more people have adapted to self-driven road trips with their friends and families over the past few months. With this in play, we have realized that there are some comfort features that every car should have, irrespective of the price tag. We have put together a list of 5 features that we believe every car should have.
-
Auto-Dimming IRVM
This is something that is missing on cars even today. Cars costing upwards of Rs.15 Lakhs also tend to miss out on an Auto-Dimming IRVM. It is also common for automakers to provide an Auto-Dimming IRVM only on the top models of cars, which seems highly unfair to us. This feature is absolutely essential for someone who drives on highways at night. In fact, it is more of a safety feature than a comfort feature. Automakers, please listen to this!

Tilt and Telescopic Adjustable Steering
This is a really good to have feature in every car, especially if more than one person is driving. It gives the driver the freedom to adjust the dynamics according to their height and reach, giving a more ergonomically suitable seating posture.
-
Lumbar Support
An absolute essential when it comes to long-distance driving. India is known for all the bad roads and how they tend to take a toll on your back. A seat with good lumbar support is really helpful. It not only provides an extra layer of comfort, but it also helps in protecting you from lower back pains.

Rear Defogger
Year over year, manufacturers ignore the rear defogger on low budget cars. This is also both, a safety and a comfort feature. It is really frustrating wiping out the fog on your car every morning during monsoons and winters.
-
Dead Pedal
This is another feature missing on most cars. A dead pedal makes highway cruising much more comfortable. While a dead pedal is missing, many cars in the lower price range do not even have adequate space for the left foot to rest in. Adding a dead pedal is not too costly, and the amount of comfort it gives is worth it. This feature will significantly reduce the tiredness one feels after a long drive.
These were 5 comfort-oriented features that we believe every car should have irrespective of its price. Comment down below if you think of some more features you’d like to see in cars!
