Ford India has introduced the FordPass mobile app for all the customers who buy the BS6 range of vehicles. FordPass is a connected tech which provides the user with real-time information exchange with the vehicle. Ford recently launched the BS6 EcoSport and the FordPass connected tech is the standard fitment across the lineup. Ford has confirmed that all the future BS6 vehicles will also get the same connected tech as standard.

FordPass is a connected tech based on a factory-fitted cloud-connected device that enables real-time information exchange, for instance, vehicle health alerts, location and fuel information among others.

The FordPass application has been divided into 4 sections- Accounts, Move, Find and Guide. As the names suggest, the first segment is where the user needs to sign up on the app. The signup requires them to put in basic details in a bid to pair the vehicle to their smartphone.
Further, the FordPass app has got the move section which will provide the real-time data to the user about the vehicle. It offers services like remotely start, stop, lock or unlock their vehicle, check vehicle health, know remaining fuel levels & distance to empty, check the levels of lubricants, monitor tyre pressure, know the odometer reading, check availability of parts their costs and locate your vehicle.

The ‘Find’ section helps the user to find what’s around like the nearest service centre or maybe a restaurant! Lastly, the ‘Guide’ section helps to connect them to the dedicated customer care when needed. FordPass is Ford’s move on the connected car tech that is slowly taking over. Will it be a success?
