Maruti has finally revealed their new big SUV, the Grand Vitara. This is the sister model to the Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder, however, both SUVs are a bit different. These SUVs will be manufactured by Toyota this time, in the Karnataka Plant. Today, let’s see the comparison of the Grand Vitara vs Hyryder!

Grand Vitara VS Hyryder – Design
The exterior is where the primary differences can be easily spotted. The front grille, headlight housing, and cladding are very different on these cars. While Toyota has gone with a more flashy approach, Maruti has kept things a bit more classy and premium-looking. From the side, both these SUVs look very similar, but things change again once you go towards the behind. Both the SUVs follow a slim LED setup for the taillights. On the Vitara, the lights are separated by a handsome light bar, while the Toyota uses a chrome strip. The overall look and feel of these SUVs is very different when inspected in detail, and Maruti looks a little bit better in this Grand Vitara VS Hyryder section!

Interiors
On the inside, these cars look pretty much the same. However, the Vitara follows an all-black/black-tan combination while the Hyryder follows a black/brown finish. Both get a 9-inch infotainment system, leather seats, ventilated seats, and a heads-up display. The show stopper here is the panoramic sunroof. It brings in a lot of light into the cabin and makes it feel much bigger. Moreover, the opening area on these sunroofs is massive, definitely the biggest in the segment!

Grand Vitara VS Hyryder – Engines
This time around, both Maruti and Toyota have chipped in with their engines. These premium SUVs get two engine options – both 1.5L Petrols. The first one is Maruti’s mild-hybrid K15C which makes 103HP and 137nm. This is mated to either a 5-speed manual or a 6-speed AT. Toyota has given us the other 1.5L, strong hybrid petrol engine. It makes 115HP and 122nm and is paired with Toyota’s e-CVT gearbox. Both the cars get an AWD option, but only on the mild hybrid variants.

Pricing
The prices for these SUVs have not been revealed yet, so we can’t have a winner for this section of the Grand Vitara VS Hyryder comparison. However, Toyota has announced that it will offer upto 5 years of warranty on the vehicles and 8 years of warranty on the battery! Maruti has not announced anything on this front yet.

Competition
The Grand Vitara and the Hyryder are all set to line up against the Creta, Seltos, Kushaq, Taigun, and the MG Astor. If the pricing is done right on these cars, they can very well dominate the market!

Given quick comparison is not enough to decide which car I like more. Specifications, price and other factors are also necessary for taking decision. Over and above test drive is also important for decision. Regarding average nothing is specifically mentioned. But it is heard thatToyota engine gives better average. As far as warranty is considered Toyota is best in these two models.
