It is no secret that Honda has been struggling in the Indian market for some time now. With the Jazz and the WR-V on the verge of being discontinued, the City and the Amaze are the only 2 cars left. Not a long time ago, people were sure that Honda too would leave India after Ford did. However, Honda has made it clear that they have no plans on leaving the Indian market. They’re planning on a big launch this year, the HR-V. Today, let’s talk about the Honda HR-V and see what it offers!

Design
The HR-V when looked at from the front will remind you of the 2019 Civic. It looks very much like an SUV version of the Civic. This is definitely a good thing because the Civic was surely one of the best-looking cars in its segment. The HR-V might steal some attention from the Creta and the Seltos just because of the way it looks. While the dimensions for the Indian unit are not clear, the Honda HR-V doesn’t look too big. But then again, Honda has always been good at hiding visual bulk and still keeping the interiors very roomy!

Features on the Honda HR-V
The features list on the HR-V is expected to be pretty similar to what we saw on the Civic and what we see on the City. Honda might add on some of the ADAS features on the top-spec variants. You can expect a 7-inch screen, one-touch up and down for all windows, TPMS, adaptive cruise, lane keep assist, and much more from the HR-V. Honda is not known for panoramic sunroofs, but it would be a good addition to this SUV. However, a regular sunroof will most likely continue on this Honda too.
- Engine speculations about the Honda HR-V
– Might get the 1.5L i-VTEC engine from the Honda City
– The 1.8L petrol from the 2019 Honda Civic may also be seen on the HR-V
– A strong hybrid variant is expected
– A diesel engine may also be available. -
Launch and pricing
The Honda HR-V is expected to launch in India by the end of 2022 or by the first quarter of 2023. It will directly compete with the Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, VW Taigun, MG Astor, and the Skoda Kushaq. Prices are expected to start from ~Rs. 12 Lakhs and go up to ~Rs. 20 Lakhs.
