The country is in a state of complete lockdown. The carmakers are facing a tough time selling cars in the market. Yet Kia is standing strong with the Seltos and Carnival, both making a mark in the Indian market. Kia Seltos sold 8,583 units in March 2020 making it the third highest-selling car in the market.
Talking about the Kia Carnival which was launched in February 2020 saw a grand opening with over 1,620 units sold. In the month of March also, the sales tallied the number of 1,117 units despite the country’s shutdown.
Kia Carnival has a starting price of ₹24.95lakh for the base variant while the top variant costs around ₹33.95lakh. The Carnival is being offered in three variants.
For the power source, it gets a 2.2-litre VGT diesel engine which can churn around 198hp of power and a peak torque of 440Nm. For the transmission duties, the engine comes mated to an eight-speed automatic transmission.
Talking about the features, the massive beast comes loaded with first-in-class features and luxuries that none of its rivals can even close in. It has got features like dual-panel electric sunroof, VIP seats with integrated leg rest, 10.1-inch dual touchscreen rear-seat entertainment system, one-touch power sliding doors, a powered tailgate and much more.
Safety-wise also, Kia Carnival also comes with a myriad of safety features ensuring a safe and relaxing drive. It features an Anti-lock braking system (ABS) and Electronic Brakeforce Distribution (EBD), electronic stability program along with hill assist, rollover mitigation and cornering brake control ensure car control at every corner, Driver and passenger airbags, front and rear parking sensor, high line tyre pressure sensor and much more.
Talking about the rivals, the Kia Carnival directly has no rivals yet. Hyundai might plan to bring in Starex to rival Carnival in future.
