Kia EV6 Launching In India On 2nd June – What To Expect?

Kia is all set to enter the EV market with the EV6 on 2nd June! The EV6 is a very anticipated car in the premium EV market and will compete primarily against the Volvo XC40 Recharge. Now, we’ve already spoken about the battery specs on the Kia EV6 here, but today, let’s take a look at the entire product!

  1. Design

The EV6 looks futuristic, as for any EV. But, it doesn’t throw the futuristic look in your face. It is subtle yet it lets you know that it is ahead of time. You’ll notice sharp cuts and creases all around the body, and the colours just make it better. It also gets big, 19-inch wheels with an attractive design on the alloys. The coupe’ styled SUV looks big, but not too big, just perfect.

  2. Battery and Range on the Kia EV6

We’ll keep it short this time. The Kia EV6 will come to India with a 77.4kWh battery and 2 motor options. The first is an RWD, which makes 225HP and 350nm. This one will be capable of a healthy 528KM range. The second option is an AWD, which makes 321HP and 605nm. The AWD motors will last you a claimed 425KMs. Both the variants will be compatible with super-fast chargers that will be available as an option.

  3. Features on the Kia EV6

As standard, a Kia car will get all the features that you can think of, and some more. It gets dual screens for the driver and for the infotainment, 10-way adjustable front seats, a sunroof, auto-dimming IRVM, a Meridian sound system, smart door handles, and much more. For enhanced safety, the EV6 gets ABS, EBD, ESP and 8 airbags. It will also get a host of ADAS featured to make our lives easier and safer.

  4. Pricing

The EV6 is expected to be priced at around Rs. 60 Lakhs, ex-showroom. Yes, this is a premium over what we expect out of Kia in India. But the EV6 will most probably be a CBU unit, through which Kia will test the demand for their EVs. If this works out, hopefully, Kia will start manufacturing cheaper EVs in India, for India!
