After the second wave of the Corona Virus in India, the automobile industry is slowly climbing back on its feet. All the car makers including Mahindra and Mahindra are gaining pace in selling cars. So, with another month of 2021 over, let’s look at how did Mahindra do in June.
-
Mahindra Bolero – 5744 units
After the implementation of the BS6 norms, almost all the diesel vehicles got a lot more expensive. Despite the price hike, Bolero is sold in huge numbers since the new norms kicking in. Talking about last month, in June this Indian brand managed to sell about 5744units of Bolero. Well, if you are not aware, these are the rural areas where this utility SUV is sold.
-
Mahindra XUV300 – 4615 units
It’s delightful to see people choosing safety over other car qualities. Mahindra XUV300 is the safest car in India as it scored full 5 stars in adult occupancy and 4 stars in child safety. That said, in June Mahindra sold about 4615 units of this compact SUV. Although this is not the segment best selling SUV, still it comes under the top-selling 25 cars in India which is fairly appreciable.
-
Mahindra Scorpio – 4160 units
The SUV that has not been updated for about a decade is the Mahindra Scorpio. Not just that, with little to no updates, Mahindra kept on increasing the price of this SUV that not it stands beside the XUV500. Which was supposed to be a more premium vehicle. Nevertheless, still, people have a soft corner for this SUV and Scorpio managed to clock sales of about 4160 units in June.
-
Mahindra Thar – 1065 units
It is the Mahindra Thar that broke all the records of the waiting periods in India. In the peak selling days of the Thar, the waiting period of the vehicle crossed more than 10 months in some areas. But later, Mahindra did rectify the situation and they sold about 1065 Thars last month.
-
Mahindra XUV500 – 633 units
Like most Mahindra cars, XUV500 also is in desperate need of a facelift. Although the SUV has been regularly updated, the basic design and the built quality remains the same. Hence, not many customers flock into Mahindra’s showroom for XUV500. Despite that Mahindra did sell about 633 XUV500 SUVs in June.
-
Mahindra Marazzo – 402 units
The MPV from this Indian carmaker did vanish for some time after the implementation of the BS6 emission norms. But after the re-launch of this MPV, the sales of this vehicle has been on and off. Though it is a potent and decently equipped MPV, it didn’t get the deserved attention. Because of these drawbacks, only 402 units of Mahindra Marazzo‘s were sold last month.
-
Mahindra Alturas G4 – 16 units
The company’s flagship SUV is the Alturas G4. If you are not aware this is essentially the rebadged Sangyyong Rexton. Meaning, the vehicle is made by international standards and offers some top of the line features with no compromise in the quality of the vehicle.
But being an expensive car from Mahindra, we think people don’t associate expensive SUVs with the car brand hence they only sold 16 units of the Mahindra Alturas G4. Not to forget this is a potent and well-engineered SUV.
-
Mahindra KUV100- 01 unit
Falling on the last place in the Mahindra SUV’s line-up, only 1 unit of KUV100 was sold in June. The Mahindra KUV100 was launched some time ago and after its launch, the car was pitched to the micro SUV segment. That said, the car other rather the segment didn’t many any dent into the Indian automotive industry.
So, these were the top-selling 8 cars from Mahindra for the month of June.
