Mahindra Racing will unveil this new vehicle at the Goodwood Festival of Speed in the United Kingdom. Now, if you don’t know about this Goodwood festival of speed, is an annual hill climb conducted on the grounds of Goodwood House in West Sussex, England, in late June or early July that features classic motor racing cars. The event is timed to avoid conflicting with the Formula One season. This allows the keen viewers to witness F1 vehicles, as well as historic automobiles and motorcycles, ascend the hill. Mahindra Racing unveiled the Gen2 Formule-E racing car at the Goodwood Festival of Speed in 2017.
Mahindra M9 Electro Gen3 Formula-E | Technical Specifications
The new M9Electro, according to Mahindra, is the quickest, lightest, and most powerful electric race vehicle ever created by the racing team. It is 60 kg lighter than its predecessor and has 100kW more power. This takes the total power to about 350kW. So, this single-seat electric automobile has a top speed of 322 km/h along with being exceptionally efficient.

Additionally, the overall design scheme of the racing car is very different from that of the previous generation. Moreover, the most prominent changes are wheels and the slashed wheel arches of racing cars. The wheel arches there was a part of the gen2 car have been replaced by an air deflecting fin on the front wing. And the Gen3 has more closed rims for better aerodynamic efficiency by reducing drag and channelling the air around the wheels and also cooling the brake assembly.

Mahindra Racing claims that the car is capable of producing up to 40% of its electricity using a regenerative braking system. The Gen3 vehicles are the first Formula E cars to feature front and back powertrains. With that, it is among the first Formula E cars to have hydraulic rear brakes. The rest of the details are expected to be revealed at the Goodwood festival on 23rd June 2022.
