A few spy shots of the Maruti Suzuki Swift Sports have been spotted doing rounds on the internet. Very specifically, a video credited to Anubhav Chauhan seems to have gotten everybody excited. The video shows a Maruti Suzuki Swift tagging along with a Toyota Innova, belonging to ARAI (Automotive Research Authority of India). But What’s so special about this Maruti Swift? Well, it is the ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance Systems) that is allegedly fitted to the Swift Sport. 
If you look closely at the front and the sides, you can spot camera modules which might hint that the upcoming Maruti Suzuki Swift Sports will get ADAS Tech!
A test mule was spotted sometime back in Pune. The test mule was spotted with a sticker on the rear windshield saying ‘On Test by ARAI’, indicating that the car is being tested for Indian roads and might be launched soon in the Indian market. Furthermore, spy shots within a week’s time gap were reported by automotive enthusiast Siddhant K which showed the hatchback on a trailer.

Both these shots reported similar prototypes with identical designs and paint schemes. Swift is already known to be a sporty hatchback. With a dedicated Sports variant, Maruti Suzuki will surely attract more new buyers, and Swift will gain back the attention it lost after the updated Baleno was launched.
Swift Sports has already been out globally, but now it might also be making its way to India. The Maruti Suzuki Swift has been among the top five selling hatchbacks of April 2022. Swift carries the sporty element and is popular among young buyers, who later modify and enhance the cosmetics and performance.
Suzuki Swift Sports | Engine
As a Sports variant, it will be significantly more potent than the currently running version. A 1.4-litre booster jet turbo petrol engine with a supporting 48V mild-hybrid tech powers the global Swift Sports. The Sports variant can reach speeds upto 210km/h.
This engine churns out 134hp and 235Nm of peak torque while mating to a 6-speed manual or AMT gearbox. The engine specs could be different for the Indian-spec version and might have slightly less power.

The test mule of Swift Sport had distinctive testing elements such as a new set of bumpers (which was cut out parts to accommodate a camera probably) and a new rear spoiler. The basic design and body are still the same and derived from the standard variant. Along with the new front grille, there are new fog-lamp housings with blacked-out bezels.
It stands on new dual-tone alloy wheels with a shark-fin antenna, roof-mounted spoiler, and rear wiper. The car also gets extensive black cladding, dual-exhaust tips at the rear, and a red “Sports” badge under the naming. The LED taillights have also been reworked, which differs from the global spec model.
Suzuki Swift Sports Interior
The spy shots did not reveal the interior in the spy shots, but it is expected to be slightly more upmarket. The details of the India-spec version are still unknown. Maruti Suzuki will further highlight the sportier character of the car. It would go against the Hyundai i20 N-line, and Maruti Suzuki might go with competitive pricing.
