MG seems to be all up and ready to finally launch for the Indian audience, the all-new MG ZS EV will officially break its cover on January 27th, 2019. The new ZS EV will the company’s second product, the first being the MG Hector SUV which turned out to be a popular offering from the company.
With the booking for the MG ZS EV already being underway via the company’s website and also at select outlets for booking amount of Rs 50,000.

On the mechanical front, the MG EV will support an electric motor pushing the power capacity to 143hp with 353 Nm of maximum torque. The generated power will be then transferred to the front wheels via the help of a single-speed automatic gearbox.
The main power force on the MG EV will a 44.5kWH liquid-cooled battery will give the EV an impressive range of 340km over a single charge. With that said the company has already installed DC fast chargers way ahead of the ZS EV’s launch at certain locations. The company will also install a 7.4kW AC charger at the customer’s office or home. MG will also provide a portable charging cable with the EV, compatible with any 15A electric socket making the charging a bit more accessible in any emergency situations.
The e-SUV will initially be offered in five major cities including Delhi, Mumbai, Ahmedabad, Bengaluru, and Hyderabad. With its launch, the MG EV support a price tag of Rs. 22 lakhs (ex-showroom- Pan India) and will compete with the likes of the Hyundai Kona Electric.
