Hyundai i20 has been a popular car in Hyundai’s lineup ever since it was launched. The Indian audience has shown a good response to the currently existing i20. The India-spec next-gen Hyundai i20 will be offered with 2 engine options. The first engine will be a 1.0L T-GDI turbo petrol engine and the second one will be a 1.5-litre CRDi diesel engine.
Talking about the transmission on the next-gen Hyundai i20, we can expect the petrol version to be delivered with a 6-speed manual gearbox and a 7-speed automatic (DCT). The diesel engine will be offered with a manual transmission only.

The current version of the i20 comes with a BS6 compliant 1.2 litre Kappa petrol engine which develops 83PS and 113Nm of torque. Hyundai is actively testing the premium hatch in India and we have spotted it multiple times now. Under the camouflage, we have seen that it looks similar to the internationally revealed next-gen Hyundai i20.
In terms of features, we can expect the next-gen Hyundai i20 to get the large floating touchscreen infotainment and the BlueLink connectivity. We can also expect a sunroof, cruise control, climate control, a premium sound system and a wireless charging pad. For the passenger safety, we can expect this car to have 6 airbags ABS with EBD, rear parking sensors and a rearview camera.

The car is expected to be priced slightly higher than the currently existing version. Once here, the next-gen Hyundai i20 will compete against the Maruti Suzuki Baleno, Honda Jazz and the recently arrived, Tata Altroz.
