It seems that Nissan India is upto something as much recently the company has registered the Magnite name for its upcoming compact SUV with the controller general of patents design and trademarks which comes under the Ministry of Commerce and Industry.
The patent was submitted last month and is likely to be of its upcoming compact SUV as the company has no other prototypes or launched planned for the domestic market. Additionally, it should also be noted that Nissan had the right to the ‘Datsun Magnite’ earlier as well and with the company planning to dissolve the Datsun brand it could be possible that Nissan could lunch the Magnite under the Nissan’s name.
