Croatian hyper EV Rimac Nevera just bagged the title of being the world’s fastest EV. It is the fastest both in terms of top speed and 0-100KM/hr. Everything about this car focuses on making it the fastest EV the world has seen. The batteries, motors, chassis, and everything you can think of are made from scratch by Rimac. Here’s everything you need to know about the Rimac Nevera!
-
Rimac Nevera – Designed to go fast
All hypercars carry an exquisite design, and so does the Nevera. However, the looks are not what makes this design stand out, it is the amount of engineering that has gone into it. For a car to be as fast as the Rimac Nevera, the design has to cut through the air like a Japanese knife. The car also carried a feature called ‘Active Aero’ under the body, the front bonnet, the rear diffuser, and the wing. This feature enables the aerodynamics of the car to adjust according to the driving modes.

The world’s fastest EV doesn’t get ESP!
Yes, you read that right. The Rimac Nevera doesn’t get features like ESP and traction control. What it gets instead is the Rimac All-Wheel Torque Vectoring 2 system. This system acts as the stability controller for the car and can perform over 100 calculations per second. This system infinitely calculated the amount of power and torque that is sent to every wheel depending on the road conditions. The brakes on this EV are also naturally very high-tech. It uses a complex electro-hydraulic brake boosted with a pedal simulator to distribute the brake force between the friction brakes and the wheels depending on the driving conditions. This enables the Nevera to make the most use of regenerative braking than any EV in the market can.

Power, Battery, and Range
The Remac Nevera gets a 120kWh battery placed in a really low position in the car. This is done to ensure a low center of gravity and help keep the car stable at staggering speeds. This battery is capable of delivering a range of 547KMs on a single charge. The battery powers 4 motors, one for every wheel. The combined power output stands at 1,912HP and the torque is 2,396nm! The Nevera can go from 0-100KM/hr in just 1.85 seconds, while 0-300KM/hr takes just 9.3 seconds! A top speed of 412KM/hr makes it the world’s fastest EV.

Pricing
The Remac Nevera will cost you around $2.1 million. As high as the price is, this car won’t be the easiest to get because Remac plans on making only 150 units for the world.
