The German Automaker Skoda has opened bookings for the new BS6-compliant Rapid 1.0 TSI. The mid-sized sedan can be booked by paying ₹50,000 as the booking amount. The deliveries will be commencing from 14th of April, 2020.
Skoda Rapid 1.0-litre TSI | Engine Specifications
The sedan will be powered by a BS6 compliant 1.0-litre TSI petrol engine which will be replacing the current TDI and MPI engines. It can produce 113.42hp of power and a peak torque of 200Nm. The engine will come mated to a 6-speed manual transmission or a 7-speed DSG.
Zac Hollis, director, sales, service and marketing, Škoda Auto India said that the state-of-the-art 1.0-litre TSI engine will offer remarkable fuel efficiency and excellent power output.
Skoda Rapid 1.0 TSI | Exterior and Interior
For the cosmetic upgrades, the new Rapid does get some upgrades. It is expected to carry on the 16-inch Clubber alloy wheels, LED daytime running lamps, rear diffuser, and trunk spoiler from the current Rapid. At the inside, the BS6 Rapid will get a new touchscreen infotainment system and few changes here and there.
Price and Rivals
The Škoda Rapid 1.0-litre TSI will be racing against Maruti Suzuki Ciaz, Honda City, Volkswagen Vento and Hyundai Verna. It is expected to be priced around ₹9 lakhs. For the exact pricing and features, we will have to wait for a while. Stay tuned.
