When it comes to the looks, the 2021 Tigor EV looks identical to the conventional ICE Tigor offered by Tata Motors. There are, however, certain things that make the Tigor EV distinct. These include inserts such as a glossy black panel on the grille adorned with electric blue accents and EV badging. Additionally, there are blue accents inside the headlamp units as well as on the 15-inch alloys. Other key changes on the 2021 EV are the projector headlamps and revised fog lamp housing that now comes with integrated DRLs as well. The rest of the look is identical to the ICE Tigor.

The Electrified Powertrain

2021 Tigor EV

The biggest update that differentiates the 2021 Tigor EV from the one that’s already doing rounds is the company’s Ziptron EV platform. As per Tata Motors, the advance Ziptron high-voltage 300V+ architecture is offered with a permanent magnet synchronous electric motor that is capable enough to produce 75 HP of power with 170 NM of peak torque. This makes the 2021 Tigor EV sprint from 0 to 60 in about 5.7 seconds.

Tata is also offering the Tigor EV with an IP67 rated 26kWH Li-Ion battery pack and electric motor. And with the new Ziptron tech on board, the Tigor can now undergo fast charging that can juice up the Tigor from 0 to 80% in just 60 minutes. Warranty wise, the Tigor EV delivers peace of mind for 8years/ 1,60,000 km that covers both battery and motor.

Expected Price

The Tata Tigor EV Ziptron is likely to sell for a premium of about Rs 1.5-2 lakh more than the ICE-powered Tigor, which currently sells for Rs 7.81 lakh for the top-end trim. This means that the Tigor EV could possibly be crowned as one of the most affordable EVs in India. The Tigor EV is currently up for pre-booking and will be launched on August 31.
