MG launched the Astor in October 2021; it is a petrol version of their ZS EV and was launched in the midsize SUV segment loaded with tech to make its space. It was equipped with features such as AI assistant and ADAS level 2 to compete with other SUVs such as Creta & Kushaq. Equipped with tech and some design tweaks, it was able to take some market; let’s see how:
ADAS Level 2
MG partnered with Bosch to cater to the level 2 ADAS features. Before, Astor XUV700 was the only SUV in a similar price range equipped with ADAS features such as AEM braking and adaptive cruise control. Astor is equipped with 6 radars & 5 cameras to cater to the 14 Autonomous level 2 features.

AI Bot
While Hector took over the market with the Internet Inside feature, Astor did the same with AI Inside. MG equipped with Astor with an AI bot and in-car technology features have caught the Indian buyers for a while. This AI assistant depicts human-like voice & emotions with a voice lent by Paralympic athlete Deepa Malik.
