Thackeray’s are one of the most famous families in Maharastra. This family name is known all around the state and respected by everyone throughout. Uddhav Balasaheb Thackeray was the 19th Chief Minister of Maharastra, and he is also the president of Shiv Sena. With such a position of responsibility comes the power to move across the city in some luxurious cars. Let’s look at their car collection:

Mercedes Benz GL-Class

The first car from their collection is a popular luxury SUV, the Mercedes Benz GL-Class. It is known as GLS after the update and is owned by Uddhav Thackeray, and is used for his regular intercity travelling. This older version he owns is powered by a 3.0-litre engine that churns out 255hp & 619Nm torque with a fuel efficiency of around 9kmpl in the city. He also uses armoured Fortuner & Safari allocated to him by the state in his security convoy.

The Thackeray car collection has another old Mercedes in their lot. This S-class saloon is an older generation, and it is still spotted around the city. Although it is an old car, Uddhav and Raj Thackeray have been spotted together multiple times in it. Mercedes has launched the 7th generation S-Class in India. It comes with a 3-litre inline six-cylinder turbocharged unit for both petrol & diesel engine with 48V mild-hybrid tech.

BMW 3-Series GT

The next luxury car on our list is the BMW 3-Series GT, owned by Aditya Thackray. There has been a controversy about this car, and he is mainly spotted using this car only. He also used it for election campaigns. This car is not produced anymore; It was powered by a 2.0-litre engine that churns out 188hp. It is one of the most spacious & powerful cars and the GT version makes it perfect for long road trips as well.

Land Rover Range Rover Vogue

Land Rover is popular among celebrities in India, be it actors or politicians; everyone owns one of these SUVs. Aditya’s Range Rover has the same deep blue colour as the BMW mentioned above. This SUV has made some news as it suffered multiple punctures due to the bad road conditions in Mumbai.

Toyota Land Cruiser

The last car on our list is an old-generation Toyota Land Cruiser owned by Raj Thackeray. This is a common choice among people at high positions as it comes with bulletproof reliability & the ability to tackle any terrain. Toyota made the first Land Cruiser in the 1950s, and it has evolved through generations & significant updates with time. The current 6th generation comes with a 3.5-litre twin-turbo V6 petrol engine and a 3.3-litre twin-turbo V6 diesel engine making 415hp & 650Nm torque and 309hp & 700Nm torque respectively.
