Tips To Save Car From Fire Crackers This Diwali

When it comes to cars, we Indias are fold of them. Once these machines were a luxury, they were more than a necessity. Rather they are a hobby. That said, in this festive season, there is a lot of hassle and bustle. People are buying new vehicles travelling and in the end crackers. With rockets flying all around and bombs exploding somewhere the other, your voiceless machine might be in trouble. This means you have to take extra care of the vehicle. So, worry not; here are 6 tips to save your car from firecrackers.

  1. Don’t cover the car

The last thing you should do is cover your vehicle on Diwali or near Diwali. For one, it seems to protect your vehicle, but it does quite the opposite. Most car covers are either made of Polypropylene, Imitation Satin, Plastic or, in some cases, cloth. If the cover comes in contact with a spark or fire from the crackers, it will either melt or catch fire. And in both cases, it’s gonna harm the vehicle. Hence it is better not to cover the vehicle at this festive time.

  2. Find covered parking (no tree)

In addition to the previous point, we also recommend vehicle owners to park their vehicles under a covered area. But please mind that the covered area should not be a tree or a shed made of wood. It’s always better to park the vehicle under concrete construction or a huge parking lot. This would save the car from cracker residue. Along with that, this will also prevent the car from catching fire. But if you park your vehicle under a tree, it is pretty much evident, what’s gonna happen.

  3. Keep A Fire Extinguisher Handy

Next, if you don’t find any covered parking place, it is always better to have a fire extinguisher handy. And do remember to park the vehicle where you can constantly monitor the vehicle. But if you live in an apartment, the car parking is likely under a proper shed or underground.

  4. Keep The Windows Closed.

The next tip we’d like to tell you is to double-check the car windows and ensure they are closed after parking. This is not only to prevent something from getting inside the vehicle but also to stop the smoke or pollution from getting inside. Well, Diwali involves the use of sky shots and rockets. And these crackers do have a mind of their own, and one cannot steer them when they are in the air, right? Hence it is highly likely that if the rocket’s trajectory goes wrong, you could imagine what could happen.

  5. Avoid driving on Diwali

As Diwali is among the biggest festivals in India, it is obvious to distribute sweets and wishes to our beloved. This will involve a lot of travel and driving. But this doesn’t mean that you are doing so on the day of Diwali in the evening. And do we need to mention the reason again? We guess you know what we are saying here, right?

  6. Adjust the vehicle burglary alarm

Lastly, don’t forget to change the vehicle alarm settings. This is because the crackers often create a small shock wave and loud noise. Both of these factors can trigger the alarm of a car. Hence to save you from shouting and not consuming the battery, it is advised to change the sensitivity setting of the alarm. Or, if your vehicle does not have the feature, you can also turn off the alarm. But if that is also something you cannot do, you can disconnect the battery.

So, these were the tips to follow and save your car from crackers this diwali. Let us know in the comment section, how are you planning to save your vehicle.
