6 Indian Cars That Came With The Ugliest Colour Options | Holi Specials

The festival of colours is finally here, and we are as excited as you are. And since we are a bunch of absolute automobile freaks, and Holi is all about colours, why not discuss car colours. After all, they are one of the few things that can make us cheer all day. But contrary to all the joy a colour can bring, sometimes car colours can be an absolute disaster. So here are the 5 worst car colours ever!

  1. Hyundai Creta (Earth Brown)

    Chocolate Brown Creta

SUVs are large, muscular and dominant. And that’s why they are available in colours that can complement their overall stance. But back in 2017, Hyundai excitedly launched the “Earth Brown” colour for the Hyundai Creta that it must have thought looked cool in the render, but those who own the chocolaty piece of the compact SUV, surely had a lot of explaining to do. The same mess up was then repeated with the “Passion Orange” colour that was launched in 2019 and made the Creta look dead ugly.

  2. Tata Nano (Persian Rose)

    Pinky Nano

The Nano was already a super-compact entry-level hatchback and surely didn’t need a tacky colour option to get it noticed. But nonetheless, Tata decided to screw up with the Nano’s “Persian Rose” colour that only sounded fancy and nothing more. In fact, one look at the car and you would rethink the name to be Persian Joke!

  3. Datsun Go (Vivid Blue)

Datsun Go’s Incomplete (Read) Sky Blue

The Datsun Go’s was never as popular as the company intended it to be. And to top the disaster, Datsun decided to push the vehicle in a “Sky” colour that only made it look uglier. When blended in traffic, the hideous looks of the car coupled with a Sky treatment made it look like some Martian gadget on road.

  4. Mahindra XUV500 (Sunset Orange)

    XUV 500’s Childish Orange

One of the very few mistakes that Mahindra did to the XUV 500, the XUV500’s “Sunset Orange” was a disaster and there is no denying that. Much like the Creta, the XUV 500 too totally looked hideous wearing the orange tone that not only defeated the SUV’s muscular stance but also made it look like a Karol Bagh mess up.

  5. Mahindra Bolero (Toreador Red)

Bolero’s Fire Brigade (Read) Toreador Red

As confusing as the name was, the colour scheme gave the Bolero an equally confusing look. Imagine a red Bolero passing by. No matter how good looking the driver might be, it will only look like a fire brigade passing over. A complete disaster we must say.

  6. Nissan Micra (Spring Green)

    Nissan Micra’s Vomit Green

While the Nissan Micra was a vehicle that had received mixed responses throughout its life, those who were rather interested in bringing home the car were turned off with the Micra’s Green paint job. In fact, when in bumper to bumper traffic, it made the hatch look like a moving vomit.

  1. Every color are chose by a design engineer who’s been working out with all permutations and combinations with a collective data analysis. Please don’t indulge your personal opinion in a public forum. Kindly give me a source or with regard to what data have you drafted the blog. Especially orange xuv was stunning, if the lights were modified..it might have been the best. And behind every color there’s a purpose it’s not just the looks alone. People who often go for a off road event would find a brown creta very comfortable rather than other colors. A little daughter might be a little happy on a persian rose nano when compared to a activa. And insulting a micra which is discontinued one as moving vomit is way beyond criticism. Even to talk critics you need to be more than a customer. There are people who slog day night fetching out on design and color. Probably the car doesn’t do well in market not necessarily have to be a failure. Is the purpose served will be the only concern. And only the designer would know it. A customer is only fit to give a feedback and opinion. Not insult some so called failures of engineers. Mind your language Mr.Nagpal. Hope you learn some writing etiquette and come up with some good content, Here after. Thank you.

    • Thanks for being an avid reader of the GoMechanic Blog. I respect your views to the fullest. As you said, car colour is a subjective thing, and so is this article. While I totally respect your opinion, the same is what a reader must do. Fantasy content like this is never meant to be one that establishes a fact. Rather, this type of content is to trigger the imagination. Also, opinion is the first step towards “productive” feedback. Thanks a lot and I hope you had a Happy Holi!
