7 Upcoming Mahindra cars to launch by 2021- Mahindra Thar to XUV400

Mahindra and Mahindra are known are mainly known for their utility and sports utility vehicles, This home-grown brand has ruled the Indian roads for over 2 decades however now the brand is somehow losing its ground to new entrants like Kia and MG. To regain its lost ground Mahindra is all set to launch an array of new cars in the coming years. So let’s have a look at the 7 new upcoming Mahindra set to launch by 2021.

1. Mahindra XUV300 Sportz

   

   The Mahindra XUV300 sports was first showcased at the recently held Auto Expo 2020 and happen to be the more powerful version of the XUV300 compact SUV. Talking about its power this new Mahindra car will feature a 1.2L, 3-cylinder turbocharged mStallion petrol engine pushing the maximum power output to 130bhp against 230Nm of peak torque.

   When launched this upcoming Mahindra car will turn out to be the most powerful car across its segment. Not only that the XUV300 Sportz will also support new body graphics which will include ‘Sportz’ lettering, an all-black interior with red contrasting strips and red highlights.

2. Mahindra XUV300 Electric

   

   Next up on the upcoming Mahindra cars list is the electric version of its best selling compact SUV the XUV300 which was again showcased at the Auto Expo 2020 and will actively rival the likes of the Tata Nexon EV. Moreover, the XUV300 EV will also be the Mahindra’s first car to be designed on a special Made-in-India (Mahindra Electric Scalable Modular Architecture) platform.

   This EV will be offered with 2 battery options making it a more compatible vehicle for a daily commute. Certain media reports also suggest that this new upcoming Mahindra car will have a range of over 370km on a single changer and will do 100 from a standstill in a matter of just 11 seconds.

3. Next-Gen Mahindra Thar

   

   India’s most loved off-roader is all set to hit the roads with an all-new look. Just like its predecessor, the new Thar will surely be a more rugged and rough model suitable for road type.

   Additionally, this new generation will also feature a BS6-compliant 2.0L mStallion petrol engine which will churn 190hp with 230 Nm of peak torque while paired a standard 5-speed manual and an optional AMT.

4. Next-Gen Mahindra XUV500

   

   Next-up on the upcoming Mahindra cars set to launch by 2021 is the all-new and heavily updated version the XUV500 which is likely to be based on the funster SUV which was initially showcased at the recently held Auto Expo 2020.

   Under its hood, This new generation will feature a 2.0L diesel engine compliant to the BS6 emission norms delivering 180hp. It is also rumoured that XUV500 can also be offered with a new 2.0-litre 4-cylinder mStallion petrol engine generating 190hp with 380Nm of peak torque.

5. New-Gen Mahindra Bolero

   

   It can be said that the new-gen Mahindra Bolero is the most anticipated car on the upcoming Mahindra cars by 2021. However, the Bolero will retain most of its features from its predecessor.

   Under its hood,  the new bolero will feature a BS6-ready 1.5L, 3-cylinder mHawk75 diesel motor paired to a 6-speed manual gearbox.

6. Mahindra XUV400

   

   Well, this might be the 7-seater version of the Mahindra XUV300 which will underpin the same SsangYong’s X100 platform. This new Mahindra car will sit over the XUV300 and below the XUV500. So with its launch, the XUV400 will actively rival the upcoming Hyundai Creta 7-seater and the MG Gloster.

   Talking about the power supply this new car from Mahindra will feature a 1.2L turbocharged petrol unit capable of generating 110hp while paired to a stand 6-speed manual transmission and an optional automatic transmission.

7. Next-Gen Mahindra Scorpio

   

   The last and the most awaited car on the upcoming Mahindra cars list is the new-gen Mahindra Scorpio will get its power from an all-new 2.0L turbocharged diesel motor churning 160bhp with 350Nm of peak torque while paired to a 6-speed manual transmission and an option DCT.

   Moreover, the new Mahindra Scorpio will be underpinning an all-new platform and will be designed by the company’s in-house design team with inputs from Pininfarina.
