Maruti Suzuki Baleno is a really good hatch that delivers comfort convenience and fuel efficiency and is an extremely value for money car! Ohh, I forgot we are talking Toyota here. Well, you can say that all the qualities mentioned are delivered by the Toyota Glanza as well! While you still wonder why Glanza sells less than Baleno. While you try to figure out an answer to that, we will take you through upcoming Toyota cars in India!

Toyota RAV4 Hybrid
This hybrid vehicle has been spotted testing multiple times on the Indian roads now. Therefore, we have started our list of upcoming Toyota cars with the RAV4 hybrid. The RAV4 is based on TNGA (Toyota New Global Architecture) platform which also underpins the Prius and the Camry. It will get a 2.5-litre engine with a hybrid system (that goes without saying).

Toyota Raize
This could be the Brezza rival. No doubt Toyota is sharing technology with Maruti Suzuki in India but if they bring the Raize in the Indian market, it would be really tough for Brezza to stand against it. Wait! What will happen to the Urban Cruiser? Toyota is really confusing the fanboys and the potential customers this time! Well, just to let your know, this one has got a 1.0-litre turbo petrol engine in the international market as of now.

Toyota Belta (Toyota Ciaz)
Rebadged Maruti Suzuki Ciaz which will be sold through the Toyota dealership will most probably be called the Toyota Belta. Talking about the specs and features, everything will be the same. All that you get in the Maruti Ciaz, will be provided in the upcoming Toyota Belta. Looking at the Toyota Glanza and Urban Cruiser’s sale number, do you think will the upcoming Belta match Ciaz’s sales?

Toyota Ertiga
Another great plan that Toyota has made by joining hands with Maruti Suzuki India. Well, if Toyota launches the Ertiga it would be the exact same car that you see in a Maruti showroom now. Although we expect Toyota to make minor tweaks to the front fascia and the rear fascia because that is obviously necessary if you are bringing the same car in the market once again. Well, we expect Toyota to call it the Qualis. Do you expect the cult to be back behind the face of Ertiga?

New MPV (Unnamed)
It is rumoured that Toyota is working on a new MPV for the Indian market. Most probably this would be the first Toyota car under the Maruti-Toyota partnership which will be sold via Nexa dealerships. Yes, till now, Toyota is selling Maruti cars in their showrooms but this MPV will be the first Toyota car that will carry the Maruti badge. Its monocoque platform will make it more frugal than the ladder based Mahindra Marazzo.

Toyota D22 Crossover
Another joint venture that Toyota and Maruti Suzuki are working on. The D22 codenamed crossover will sit above the Brezza in the lineup. The only thing we are not sure about till now is that if this car will be sold via Toyota dealerships or Maruti dealerships. Talking about the price and the size, this will be below the Hyundai Creta. As far as we know, Toyota’s Bangalore plant will produce this vehicle and will source parts from Maruti Suzuki India Ltd.. This will be based on the DNGA (Daihatsu New Generation Architecture), which is basically the low-cost version of the TNGA platform. This platform also underpins the Toyota Raize and the Daihatsu Rocky.
These are the upcoming Toyota cars that you will see in the Indian market really soon. Although all of them won’t be sold through Toyota dealerships, they will still be called a Toyota because they will be Japanese from the heart! Using Toyota and Maruti Suzuki’s technology, we wish to see some great cars in the Indian market in the coming days.
