Volkswagen is now all set to bring the facelifted Tiguan to the Indian roads. The SUV made its global debut last year, and now going with the brand’s 2.0 strategy updates are coming in. Here are the major highlights of the facelift:
A New Heart
The facelift changes the existing 2.0L TDI engine making 143hp by a 2.0L TSI petrol engine churning out 190hp & 320Nm torque. It will be mated to a 7-speed DSG as standard with VW’s 4-motion all-wheel-drive system.
This engine is already running in the Tiguan all-space and the Skoda Superb.
The design is purely derived from the previous version but has some tweaks to the boxy appeal. It features sharper headlamps with LED matrix technology. The front bumper has also been revised with triangular fog light housings & slated air intakes.

The new Tiguan stands on 18-inch alloys with a reworked rear bumper & added LED aspects. The boot lid will hold the ‘Tiguan’ badging along with the added LED elements.
The significant change in the interior would be the touchscreen for climate control replacing the conventional knobs. The interior would be similar to the Tiguan All-space, and the new steering featured on the Taigun is also expected.
It might also hold the brand’s new logo along with a lengthy list of features such as an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system with 3-zone climate control and standard android & apple play.
It will also offer connected car technology with a memory function for the driver’s seat & a panoramic sunroof. Safety-wise it will include features like 6-airbags ABS, ESP, driver alerts & ISOFIX anchors.
