With the upcoming XUV 700 spied without camouflage, the SUV has once again triggered excitement. And with Mahindra announcing a host of new features onboard, the XUV 700 has got the attention of the nation. But a good look at the spy shots has made many avid fans and critics wonder, have features overtaken the looks? Let’s find out.
Has the look actually evolved?
Even though several design cues were already spied on the highly teased test mules. Now that clear cut images are out, teardrop headlamps, C-shaped integrated LED DRLs and a blacked-out grille all are confirmed. The front bumper houses fog lamp housing, skid plate and an air dam.
Around the rear, the refreshed SUV gets a slope close to the roofline, stock roof spoiler and large wrap around tail lamps with angular detailing. The alloy wheels are good looking but seem to be a size too small in proportion to the SUV’s sizable stance. Even the paint job onboard the SUV seems to be too dull to actually complement the vehicle’s looks.
The design on the face of it is surely a change over the XUV’s previous attire, but when comparing the two looks, the XUV 700 doesn’t really seem like an evolution. The XUV 500’s looks are far more balanced when compared to the XUV 700’s angular stance. Even though looks are something that is quite subjective, the design adopted by the XUV 700 surely elicits polarizing opinions. Or maybe because of Mahindra’s continuous teasing and testing, our expectation’s with the XUV 700 has gotten too high for Mahindra to truly deliver? But despite the XUV 700’s polarizing exteriors, all is not lost, as the vehicle offers a plethora of exciting features.

The Feature Game
As per a series of previous teases and spy shots, the XUV 700 is sure to be topped with premium inclusions such as high-beam assist, integrated infotainment and driver’s display, panoramic sunroof, 360-degree cameras, dual-zone climate control, built-in air filter and front ventilated seats among other top-notch features.
As per various sources, the XUV 700 will be the first SUV to offer Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) in its segment. This means that the sizable SUV could come with features such as lane-keep assist, auto emergency braking, blind-spot detection and even adaptive cruise control.
And that’s not all; Mahindra has recently announced that the upcoming XUV 700 will also feature the AdrenoX, intelligent cockpit technology. This new tech onboard will also offer smart Artificial Intelligence in the upcoming XUV700. The AdrenoX tech will be offered on the dual-screen integrated displays that are developed in collaboration with Visteon and offer Qualcomm Snapdragon integration.
Under the AdrenoX collaboration, Mahindra has also joined hands with Amazon to offer build-in Alexa functionality. Moreover, for a world-class audio experience, the XUV will also come with Sony’s 3D sound technology.
With several top-class features on offer, the XUV 700 would undoubtedly be one of the best SUVs in India in terms of features, in-cabin offering and smart connectivity. In fact, it wouldn’t be wrong to say that the XUV 700’s top-notch inclusions are actually making up for its polarizing looks!
