It’s been a few days since the launch of the Mahindra XUV700 and boy oh boy does it have a lot of talking points. It comes with so many segment first features that we couldn’t fit it all in one article. This article will speak about the Flush Door Handles that we see on the XUV700.

What are flush door handles
Flush Door Handles do not stick out like regular handles do. They rest inside the body of the car and come out whenever required. This is done mostly for increasing the aesthetic appeal of the car, but sometimes it also reduces the drag on higher speeds.

How do they work on the XUV700
On the XUV700, the lower variants get a mechanical handle. Here, you’ll have to manually push in the door handles for them to come out. On the higher variants, we get an electrical set-up. Here, the door handles pop out and in automatically when the car is locked or unlocked.

Which other cars have flush door handles?
In this segment, no car has this feature. In two segments above this, no car has this feature, in one segment above that, guess what, no car has this feature. Cars like the Range Rover Velar and the Tesla Model S were one of the first to get flush door handles.
