Luxury car manufacturer Mercedes-Benz has recently launched the all-new 2020 GLS in India at an introductory price of Rs 99.90 lakh (Ex-Showroom). This three-row SUV is the third-generation version and is sold under two variants the Mercedes-Benz GLS 400 d 4MATIC and GLS 450 4MATIC.
However, Mercedes-Benz has introduced the updated version of the GLS three-row SUV in India after almost a year of its International launch. The GLS which was the SUV form the german brand in the S-Class segment and was first rolled out in India in 2010 via the CBU route. 2020 Mercedes-Benz GLS | Engine Specification
On the mechanical front, the new GLS 400d diesel gets its power from a 3.0-litre inline-six engine unit which churns upto 330hp with 700Nm of peak torque. The company also claimed that the new 400d can do 100 from a standstill in a matter of 6.3 seconds which is quite impressive for a 3-row SUV that weighs over 2-tonnes.
Both the engine units are paired to a 9-speed torque converter automatic gearbox with Mercedes’ latest 4Matic four-wheel-drive system.

The updated versions of the GLS SUV is based on the brand’s most trusted MHA (Modular High Architecture) giving the SUV a much larger stance it always craved. The new GLS now stands at 5,207mm in length, 1,999mm in width, 1,823mm in height and has a 3,135mm wheelbase.
These new dimensions make the new 2020 GLS 77m longer, 22mm and 60mm longer compared to its out-going model and its arch-rival the BMW X7.

The GLS is big on features which include a 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system compatible with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, a 12.3-inch instrument cluster integrated with Mercede’s latest MBUX multimedia system voice command and gesture control, 64-colour ambient lighting, five-zone automatic climate control, wireless charging on the front and rear consoles, 8.0-inch rear-seat entertainment systems, 11 USB Ports, LED headlamps, massive 21-inch alloy wheels and air suspension.
There’s also a very unusual feature which allows you to fold the second and third-row seats to liberate its 2,400 litres of space. This can be done through a push button on the boot.
