MG Motors has launched the new and updated version of the Maxus G10 in China. The MG Maxus G10 will also be making its way to the Indian shores sometime next year and will be known as the MG G10 MPV. The Chinese variant of the India-Bound MG MPV gets all-new engine and transmission options which have been developed according to upcoming 6b emission standards, which will be made mandatory from 1 July 2023, So without any further ado let’s see what the new and improved MPV has to offer.
MG G10 (Maxus G10) | Engine Specification
As stated the new and improved MG MPV (Maxus G10) will now be offered with two new engine options 2.0-litre turbocharged petrol engine capable of generating 221 hp with 345 Nm of peak torque while paired to a 6-speed manual and an optional 6-speed automatic transmission and will be compatible with the new 6b emission standards.
The old 2.0-litre petrol unit generates 221hp with 345 Nm of peak torque for the 6-speed manual transmission variant while the 6-speed automatic transmission churns upto 216hp with 350 Nm of peak torque.
The new 2.0-litre diesel unit develops 161hp with 375 Nm of torque while paired to a 6-speed manual transmission or an 8-speed automatic transmission. The former 1.9-litre diesel engine churns 148hp with 350 Nm of torque and comes with a 6-speed manual and 6-speed automatic transmissions options.

MG G10 (Maxus G10) | Features
The features on the revised MG MPV more or less remains the same as before and includes a 3-piece panoramic sunroof, power sliding rear doors, 10-inch touchscreen infotainment system, middle-row executive seats with fold-out leg rests. The only notable change is that it now gets a new two-tone upholstery for the seats.
MG has also added an 8-seat configuration, in addition to the previously offered 7- and 9-seat versions. Reports also suggest that the Indian variant will also be quite similar to the Chinese variant. So to see what similarities will the Indian variant have with its Chinese counterpart we will just have to wait for MG to launch the G10 MPV in India.
MG G10 (Maxus G10) | Price and Rivals
The Chinese variant and been launched the revised MPV at a starting price of CNY 1,39,800 which is approximately Rs 14.96 lakh when converted to Indian Rupees. Rumour also has it that the Indian variant will be priced slightly higher than the Chinese variant.
When launched in India the new MPV from the Chinese owned British brand will have to compete with its two worthy arch-rivals the Kia Carnival and the Toyota Innova Crysta.
