2022 Maruti Suzuki Brezza Spied Testing!

The Maruti Suzuki Brezza is one of the best selling sub-compact SUVs in India right now. Ever since its launch back in 2016, it has been doing very well in the Indian Market. So much so that Toyota went ahead and started selling it as the Urban Cruiser too! While the Brezza has gone through minor changes and facelifts, there hasn’t been a significant upgrade. Well, it’s time for one now. Recently, the upcoming 2022 Maruti Suzuki Brezza was spotted testing for the first time. Here’s what you need to know!

  1. Design Changes

There’s not much clarity on the new design, but from what we can see in the images, the new Brezza will be bigger. The 2022 Maruti Suzuki Brezza will be an evolution more than a revolution. It will retain its boxy, SUV like appeal. Significant design changes are anticipated at the front, new headlights, taillights and perhaps even a new grille! We also expect Maruti to go ahead and give the car at least 17-inch Alloys.

  1. New Features?

Maruti cars are not known for being feature-loaded, period. However, Maruti aims to regain the best selling title with this one, so we expect some premium features. A new dashboard, a new instrument cluster, a big screen with Apple car-play and Android-auto(hopefully wireless :)) are amongst a few things that are expected on the 2022 Brezza.

  1. Safety

The Brezza is one of the safest cars from Maruti Suzuki, it scored a 4-star rating in the GNCAP test. Maruti Suzuki has been facing a lot of criticism about the safety of their cars lately. With the 2022 Brezza, Maruti is aiming for a 5-star safety rating! It is also expected to come with newer safety features and 6 Airbags.

  1. Engine

The 2022 Maruti Suzuki Brezza will most likely come with the same 1.5L Petrol engine it currently runs on. This motor produces 103HP and 138nm torque. A mild-hybrid SHVS system might also be paired with this engine for improved drivability and efficiency. This will be paired to a 5-Speed manual or a (most likely) 4-Speed Automatic gearbox. We hope that Maruti finally gives this car the 6-Speed automatic gearbox that it deserves!

  1. Expected Prices of the 2022 Maruti Suzuki Brezza

The current-gen Brezza starts at Rs.7.61 Lakhs and goes up to Rs.11.19 Lakhs(ex-showroom). The new model will bring along a price hike. We expect the prices to go up by Rs.60,000-90,000.

Here was everything about the upcoming 2022 Brezza. There’s no clarity about a launch date yet, but we do believe that it will come to India by the second half of 2022. Do you think it will take on the Nexon, Venue, Sonet and the XUV300? Let us know in the comments!

  1. Brezza is the most desirable compact SUV at present and it is unlikely to lose the spot in near future as well. An update in the current profile of Brezza will certainly drive it to the number one slot which others might find difficult to compete. Maruti has the best engines and no questions about it. It needs to address safety issue besides working on interiors which look very simple and ordinary. Large wheel size, wider tyres would give it a distinct look and keep it ahead of its rivals. Rear a/c vents, rear defogger be made standard. LED lights in yellow would be something new and less oppressive. Price and package together make Brezza the supreme choice of India. However, a delayed launch would be unfair.
