At this year’s Auto Expo we had the opportunity to witness some new brands and products which made their Indian debut. Although the theme for this year’s Auto Expo was “Green Mobility’ but it seemed to have gone a little out of hand as we couldn’t help but notice that the event was dominated by the compact SUV at the Auto Expo 2020.
So without any further ado let’s have a look at the top mid-size SUV you shouldn’t have missed at the Auto Expo 2020.

Second-gen Hyundai Creta
The second-gen Hyundai Creta turned out to the showstopper as it was unveiled by non-other than ‘The King of Bollywood’ Shah Rukh Khan himself. The all-new Creta is based on the Kia Seltos and is expected to underpin the same a 1.5-litre diesel and petrol unit previously featured on the Seltos. It is also being considered as the best compact SUV at the Auto Expo 2020.
The second-gen Creta all supports a more condensed and compact exterior design on the outside. However, the feature on the inside remains a mystery as the mirrors on the car were blacked-out. Rumours also suggest the company could also introduce a 1.4-litre capable of generating 138hp.

Renault Duster Turbo
Well, this one turned out to be a surprise form the French carmaker Renault. The new Duster turbo holds a powerful 1.3-litre turbo-petrol engine pushing the maximum power output to 153hp with 250 Nm of peak torque thus making it the most powerful vehicle in its segment.
if the company stays true to the above mentioned mechanical specs the Renault Duster Turbo would also become the turbo-petrol car to support a CVT unit.

Tata Harrier 2020
With the previous-gen Tata Harrier selling like hot-cakes it was time for the company to introduce the latest version of this killer compact SUV. Under its hood, the 2020 Tata Harrier will feature an all-new 168hp 2.0-litre multijet petrol engine.
Tata has also managed to upsize its the wheels with 18-inches along with a new Calypso red exterior shade. Feature-wise the new Tata Harrier will come with a kit like panoramic-sunroof, auto-dimming IRVM and powered driver seat.

Volkswagen Taigun
Volkswagen India came out strong at the Auto Expo 2020 with the Taigin compact SUV. The VW Taigun is based on the company’ MQB-A0-IN platform and is scheduled to make its entry in the Indian market by the end of 2021.
In terms of design the Taigun looks very identical to the China-spec T-Cross. However, on the inside, this compact SUV supports a clean dashboard layout typical to the all the VW cars.
On the mechanical front, the Taigin will support a 1.0-litre TSI engine capable of generating 113hp with 200 Nm of peak torque. We can also expect the car to be offered with a more powerful 1.5-litre TSI engine as well.

MG ZS Petrol
The then British and now Chinese auto major Morris Garages have finally revealed the petrol variant of the MG ZS EV with hopes that the non-EV variant would also do wonder for the company.
The MG ZS petrol will come powered by a 1.5-litre naturally aspirated (NA) engine and a 1.3-litre turbo-petrol unit capable of generating a maximum power output to 118 hp with 150 Nm of torque and 160 hp with 230Nm of peak torque respectively.
Both the engines will come mated to either a 5-speed manual, CVT, and 6-speed automatic gearbox. We can also the ZS petrol to feature some minor cosmetic tweaks.
