Tata Motors has officially revealed the Tata Tiago 2020 facelift which now comes with a BS6-compliant engine and adheres to Tata’s Impact 2.0 design language. The facelifted hatch is available for booking with a token amount of ₹11,000 at the dealerships.

The current variant of Tiago is priced at ₹4.55 lakh (ex-showroom). The facelift will surely be priced more than this tag thanks to the BS6 upgrade and the few other additional features. The Indian hatch will lock horns with the Renault Kwid Climber, Maruti Suzuki Celerio, Hyundai i20 and Maruti Suzuki Ignis.

It will be powered by the 1.2-litre petrol engine which will be mated with a 5-speed manual transmission or an Automated Manual Transmission. The engine will churn out 84hp of power and peak torque of 114Nm. Tata has discontinued the diesel variant though. The CNG variant can be expected to be introduced in future.

The hatch is donning a new front fascia which resembles the upcoming Altroz hatchback. The bonnet is also raised in order to make it compliant with the upcoming pedestrian safety norms. At the exterior, Tiago has got a larger grille and revamped bumper. Tata will offer 6 colour options: Flame Red, Pearlescent White, Victory Yellow, Pure Silver, Tectonic Blue and Daytona Grey.

Tata is known to make safer cars for Indians. Tiago will also be pre-loaded with safety features such as airbags, ABS, ESC, raised bonnet for pedestrian safety and the list goes on and on. This will surely account for an increase in the price.
