7 Maruti Suzuki Cars Launching In 2022

Maruti Suzuki has the most significant share of the Indian automotive market. Their passenger vehicles almost dominate every segment. People love these cars because of their affordability & fuel efficiency. Things are changing now; Nexon is emerging as the dominator in compact SUVs as people are paying attention to safety now.

Other Maruti cars such as Swift, Baleno, Ertiga are still at the top of their segments. Maruti has a lot planned for the next year with a full lineup of new generation launches, facelifts, and even new car launches. Except that with the rising fuel prices, a CNG variant of the Brezza, Swift & Swift Dzire is also expected. Let’s see what Maruti is offering in the coming year:

  1. Maruti Suzuki Jimny

    Maruti has been exporting Jimny for a few months now, and there has been word about launching the same in India. As the SUV trend is rising in India, there is a marketing plan for Jimny in India, and it is expected to be launched next year.
    It will be powered by the same K15B petrol engine making about 103hp and tuned for extra torque.

    This will their offroader fulfilling the void of Gypsy. While the 3-door version is expected to launch next year, a 5-door version with a turbo will take some time to hit the roads. A vast audience is waiting to see the battle between the three offroaders: Thar vs. Gurkha vs. Jimny.

  2. A Mid-Size SUV Creta Rival

    Creta has been dominating the mid-size premium SUV segment for a while. Now the competition has grown significantly with the XUV700, Astor, Taigun & Kushaq. These new launches are loaded with tech features such as ADAS, AI assistants, and better power than before.

    S-cross always has yielded good numbers, but it is time for a flagship SUV to take the competition head-on. Maruti is working with Toyota to make this one a collaborative product, and it will be something new for both the brands and Toyota will have something better than just rebadged cars. With this new SUV being launched, the S-cross is expected to receive a facelift too by 2022.

  3. New Generation Maruti Brezza

    The Vitara Brezza has been in the top-selling compact SUVs as it is one of the cars that offer a complete package. It was launched in 2016 and was an instant hit among the people. This 4-star rated car with enough power and spacious interiors has been one of the hot-selling cars.

    It has received minor updates & changes, but a significant update has been due for a while. Maruti will be working on making the Brezza more premium interior-wise with a sunroof in the coming year. They will also be adding some more features and tech to tackle the competitors. However, no changes are expected in the engine except for offering their SHVS tech in more variants. 

  4. 2022 Maruti Suzuki Celerio

    Celerio has been the little family hatchback for endless people in India. A considerable number of people switched to Celerio for the convenience of AMT. While this little car is comfortable and fuel-efficient, the top variants lacked a touch screen infotainment system.

    A generation update for the Celerio has already been revealed with a new platform and a touchscreen infotainment system. The exterior design has also been revised and looks sportier now. It will reach the markets in early 2022.

  5. New Generation Baleno

    The Baleno competes in the premium hatchbacks like the i20 & Altroz. It sits above the Swift and is popular among the people. It runs on the same engine as the Swift making the same 83hp. Launched in 2015, it now needs some major updates.
    While a new generation Baleno is also in progress for early 2022, it is expected to have more features and revised looks.

    The test mules have been spied on the road, but the details are still sparse. The word around also suggests that Maruti could launch a Baleno-based compact SUV next year, and it will sit below the Brezza and be more affordable.

  6. Facelifted Maruti Suzuki Ciaz

    Ciaz has been competing in the executive sedans segment with Honda City, Verna, Rapid. Launched in 2014 with the same K15B engine, it runs with a mild-hybrid petrol version currently. It is also among the few safe cars from Maruti with a 4-star rating.

    Ciaz will be receiving a facelift in the next year with some significant updates. The exterior design is expected to be revised along with a new upmarket interior, and the infotainment system and the front dash are also likely to be upgraded.

    Ertiga has been ruling the MPV segment for a while. Launched in, it has been one of the most affordable & fuel-efficient family cars that do not feel underpowered either. Recently Toyota also launched a rebadged Ertiga known, as Rumion which is likely to reach India next year.

    By 2022 Ertiga will be completing a decade along with the title; car of the year 2019. It received the first facelift in 2018; this time, only cosmetic upgrades to the interior and some utility features and new tech are expected.
