Altroz was launched in 2020, and in a year, it has made its way to the second most selling hatchback in India. The premium hatchback segment beat the Hyundai i20 and now sits just behind the Maruti Suzuki Baleno.
Tata also launched a dark version of the same earlier this year. It is equipped with a 7-inch touchscreen, iRA connectivity, and ambient lighting. It has a 5-Star NCAP rating and dual front airbags, ABS & EBD and rear parking sensors as standard features.

Transmission Changes & Pricing
The automatic version has been in development for some time now, and recently an Altroz test mule was also spied. The fully camouflaged car had no changes to the exterior, so our guess is it is the long-awaited DCT transmission being tested.
The turbo petrol engine would be mated to a 7-speed DCT transmission while the other naturally aspirated engine could be coupled to a 6-speed AT. These automatic versions are expected to launch in the first half of 2022.
Currently, the Altroz is priced between ₹5.89-9.64 lakhs (ex-showroom). The automatic variants could cost ₹75,000-1 lakh more than the manual transmission.
