The 2021 Force Gurkha has been launched in India. The off-road SUV starts at a base price of 13.59 lakhs; the price range is about 1 lakh more than its biggest competitor Mahindra Thar. The SUV can be booked at a minimal cost of 25,000. However, delivery will only begin closer to Dussera.
A Sturdy Look
The Gurkha is an outdoor SUV meant to be taken seriously, and this shows in its design; this boxy, tough SUV design has no room for frills and fancy. The Gurkha comes in 5 colours, red, green, white, orange and grey. The single-slat grille with Gurkha branding, shark grille fenders, Khukri details on the mirror and the signature snorkel add to the rugged architecture. LED headlamps and the circular DRL give the car a vintage vibe. The Gurkha measures 4116 mm in length, 1812 mm in width, 2075 mm in height, and has a ground clearance of 2400 mm. The car has 16inch wheels, with an extra wheel on the back for those extra-rugged roads.

Powertrain
The Gurkha has a 4 wheel drive system and a BS6 compliant 2.6l diesel engine sourced from Mercedes Benz to power it through tough terrain. The engine gives 91bhp and has a peak torque of 250. The SUV has a 5-speed Mercedes manual transmission.
The Gurkha can wade through up to 700mm water and ease through the slippery ground, muddy stretches, and climb steep slopes up to 35-degree. The low gear ratio is an advantage in these situations.
