Another month passed by and finally, the Indian automotive market has started reviving. With new cars coming up in almost every segment, car sales are definitely getting a push. Here, we will discuss the car sales for the month of June 2021. Not that difficult to guess, Maruti Suzuki has the lead and following them are Hyundai, Tata and Mahindra. Let’s have a look at the detailed sale figure.
-
Maruti Suzuki (1,24,280 Units)
Starting the car sales report for June 2021, we have Maruti Suzuki with a sale of 1,24,280 units. MSIL has been India’s favourite car brand for a long and no one has been able to match the sales figures. With almost 1.25 Lakh cars sold by this Indian brand for June 2021, no other brand has touched the 100k mark.
-
Hyundai (40,496 units)
Following Maruti is the Korean automaker. HMIL is in second place for car sales in June 2021. With a sale of 40,496 units, Hyundai has shown a YoY growth of almost 90%! Considering June 2020 was the first instance where the country was under lockdown, 90% is a great figure to be seen on the charts! What do you think, will Alcazar be able to push the sales further?
-
Tata Motors (24,110 Units)
The vocal for local car brand. Tata Motors is known to deliver safe cars. If you own a Tata, you can be sure of the build quality. Although the Indian automaker is planning on launching CNG variants, multiple ‘Dark’ editions and more, the current lineup has gained them a sale number of 24,110 units.

Kia Motors (15,015 Units)
Hyundai’s Korean brother, Kia Motors is in 5th place for car sales in June 2021. Although Kia has not launched any new cars in recent times, they are still sustaining the market. In the last month, they sold 15,015 units with a YoY growth of 106.39%. We suppose if Kia plans of launching any new car in the upcoming months, it would be a great push to the sales. Toyota Kirloskar (8,798 Units)
One of the most reliable car brands in India. Toyota’s sales for June 2021 ended at a figure of 8,798 units. At the 6th place for car sales in June, Toyota is the first brand on the list that could not cross the 10k mark. Considering the fact that Toyota’s affordable segment is more or less Maruti, others are on a little expensive price point. Let’s see how the sales go in the next month. Talking about figures, the YoY growth is 127.57%.
-
Renault (6,100 Units)
The car that you see above has really helped push the sales of this brand in India. Along with the Kiger, the Triber has also become a household name for those who were looking to buy an affordable 7-seater for their family. All in all, Renault has picked up a really good trajectory and if they keep on launching such vehicles, they will surely be among the top 5 someday. For June 2021, they ended up at 6,100 units with a YoY growth of 31.64%.
-
Ford India (4,936 Units)
The American brand is having a tough time in the Indian market as of now. EcoSport is the one who started the trend of subcompact SUVs in India and surely deserves some respect for that. Other than this, EcoSport is a really good car if we talk about driveability and features. As far as other cars in the lineup are considered, Endeavour is doing wonders in the market as of now!
-
Honda Car India (4,767 Units)
This Japanese brand has been missing out on updating its lineup too. We don’t know why Honda is not updating their lineup. Keeping that aside, if we have a look at the sale figure, it is dipping too. The Japanese automaker ended up selling 4,767 Units this time. With a YoY growth of 240.99%!
-
Morris Garages India (3,558 Units)
Last but not least, we have MG on our list of car sales for June 2021. With a sale of just 3,558 units, this one is in 10th place. Just like we said Kia has not entered the send or the hatch segment, MG is also yet to try out their hand at both of them. What do you think, will they be able to push the sales if they try entering new segments?
