20 Most Anticipated Cars Coming Soon In 2022

Indian automotive industry has vast competition among the cars makers. Being a competitive market, one needs to constantly evolve to stay at the top or at least in the customers’ good books. This is where innovations play a significant role in favour of all the carmakers, not just in India but across the globe. Now, what is the better way to update an existing vehicle or introduce a completely new vehicle? Well, being a company full of petrol heads, we are really excited to see the cars coming to India in 2022.

Here is a list of 20 cars we feel will be launching next year.

  1. Toyota Hilux (January 2022)*

    One of the most anticipated vehicles in India is the Toyota Hilux. The vehicle based on the Fortuner is said to rival the only other car (rather a truck) in the market, ISUZU D-MAX. Launching the Hilux is among the best moves by Toyota as they are setting foot in the segment with not many vehicles.

    Toyota Hilux is expected to come with a couple of engine options like the Innova Crysta and Fortuner. Under the hood, Hilux might get a 2.4-litre and a 2.8litre turbo diesel engine. Talking about 2.4, it can generate a peak power of 150hp, whereas the bigger one will generate a max power of 204bhp.

  2. Maruti Suzuki Baleno (Q1 2022)*

    The following vehicle to feature is the new Maruti Suzuki Baleno. It’s been a long time since Maruti’s top-selling carmaker has updated their premium hatchback Baleno. There have been instances where people did get a glimpse of this hatchback under camo. Maruti Suzuki is not finally ready to give the Baleno a complete overhaul.

    Speaking of which, we can expect the new Baleno to get a new floating infotainment system with a revamped interior. But there might not be any change under the bonnet. Although we are not aware of the exact date of the new Baleno’s launch, we are guessing Maruti will launch the facelifted Baleno in the Q1 of 2022.

  3. Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza (Mid 2022)*

    Moving on, Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza is among the best selling cars in India. With SUVs ever gaining popularity, Vitara Brezza happened to be just the right move for this renowned carmaker. That said, it’s been a while since Maruti Suzuki has updated the Vitara Brezza.

    We think the wait is about to get over at Maruti Suzuki is working in the generating change of the new Vitara Brezza. This time around, Brezza might get the right ingredients to conquer the subcompact SUV segment in India. With that clear, we assume Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza to get multiple new features and a completely new electrified powertrain.

  4. Skoda Kodiaq (Q1 2022)*

    The Czech carmaker that has leveled up its game in India has another new vehicle lined up, Skoda Kodiaq. Sitting in the premium SUV segment, it is among the best in the business. We expect Skoda to launch the Kodiaq somewhere in the first quarter of 2022.

    This is where the new Skoda might come with only a petrol engine. Expect the same 2.0-litre TSI motor, generating peak horses of 187, like the one in Skoda Superb and Octavia. We’d say, for those looking for an SUV in the ₹30-₹35 lakh price range, Skoda Kodiaq is worth the wait.

  5. Citroen C3 (Q1 2022)*

    A while back, the French carmaker Citroen launched their first vehicle, C5 Aircross and now they are set to unveil another vehicle. This time around, Citroen is Planning to launch a compact SUV C3 in India. Expect this carmaker to launch this SUV somewhere in the first quarter of 2022.

    Like the C5 Aircross, the C3 might get a well-built cabin with a unique exterior design. Along with that, there might be an option of a 1.-litre naturally aspirated petrol and a turbo petrol motor under the hood.

  6. Toyota Rumion (Q1 2022)*

    Apart from a few, most of the new cars launched from Toyota are not exciting. For most, they have rebadged Maruti Suzuki cars. Well, it is the Maruti Suzuki Ertiga that has been rebadged, and this time it is called Rumion. Like the other badge interchanged cars, the Rumion is the same as its donor MPV.

Okay, under the core DNA, it is identical to the Maruti Suzuki Ciaz, minus the Suzuki badge, of course. Ciaz is among the most comfortable vehicles in the segment and among the most affordable.

    The same adjectives can also be said for the Toyota Belta too. Toyota Belta also gets the same set of features, engine and transmission. Like the Rumion, the Belta is expected to be launched in the first quarter of next year.

  8. Hyundai Creta (Q1 2022)*

    Exciting news, India’s favourite compact SUV, Creta, which also happens to be Hyundai’s best selling vehicle, is about to get its midlife facelift. We believe Hyundai Creta will be launched in the first quarter of 2022.

    Volkswagen Virtus is coming in a competitive but not so hot segment. We expect the Virtus to go with the two sets of turbo-petrol engines a 1.0-litre and a 1.5-litre. Additionally, we also assume that the Virtus will replace the ongoing Volkswagen Vento from the company’s line-up.

  10. Maruti Suzuki Alto (Mid 2022)*

    Now, let’s talk about the vehicle that came in 2000 and is still going strong, Maruti Suzuki Alto. In these two decades, Maruti Suzuki has thoroughly updated one of India’s favourite cars, Alto.

    Worry not; in the first quarter of 2022, Hyundai plans to launch the next generation Tucson in India. This generation changes will bring a ton of difference to the interior and the exterior.   17. Maruti Suzuki S-Cross, Generation Change (Mid 2022)*

    Well, for those who like driving, good news! The renowned carmaker Maruti Suzuki is famous for making a budget and boring cars. But in its line-up, cars like S-Cross keep the keen drivers and petrolheads entertained.

    Maruti Suzuki might launch the next-gen S-Cross in or around June 2022. We’ll likely get the same aesthetics (minus the engine and transmission) as the one in the recently unveiled SX4 S-Cross in the International market.

  18. Skoda Slavia (Q1 2022)*

    Skoda Slavia’s launch is just around the corner, entering a competitive segment. Although Skoda has unveiled Slavia in India, we expect the carmaker to launch the vehicle in the first quarter of 2022.

    The upcoming Skoda Slavia comes with many features to entertain its occupants. Not just that, for the driver, Slavia gets an option of two powerful turbo petrol engines. 115bhp 1.0-litre engine and a 150bhp 1.5-litre motor.

  19. Maruti Suzuki WagonR EV (Q3 2022)*

    The next vehicle on the list is from the house of Maruti Suzuki. It might also be the first vehicle from Maruti to get an all-electric powertrain. That said, we don’t have the exact details of the powertrain of the vehicle but we expect Maruti Suzuki to launch the WagonR EV somewhere towards the end of 2022.

  20. Jeep Commander (Mid 2022)*

    Making an entry into the 7-seater SUV segment, Jeep is ready to launch the extended version of the compass, called the Jeep Commander. This is very early to say anything, as the carmaker in India has not even confirmed the vehicle’s name.

    Jeep may launch this SUV somewhere in the second quarter of 2022. It might be called Commander or Meridian. Now, based on the Compass, we expect it to get the same powertrain and drive train with a similar-looking interior.
