EVs To Showcase At Auto Expo 2023

The auto expo is just a week away now. And with several great cars on showcase, Electric Vehicles are sure to be a great attraction this time. The futures of automotive mobility in India, electric vehicles are the future, and we mean it. So here are 6 superb EVs that you must witness at the Auto Expo 2023.

  1. Maruti Suzuki E SUV Concept

    Maruti Suzuki YY8 Concept

    The country’s largest automaker will be doing wonders at the Auto Expo 2023. Amongst all the various showcases would be the new electric SUV concept dubbed the YY8. While details about the EV are not out yet, we can consider it to be at par with what other OEMs have in store. Even in 2020, Maruti showcased its electric SUV concept, the Futuro-E. While the company will launch its first Electric SUV in somewhere around 2025, the showcased concept will give us an insight into what the car marker has in store. Positioned in the premium segment, the Maruti EV will be produced at the carmaker’s Gujarat Plant.

  2. Hyundai Ioniq 5

    Hyundai Ioniq 5

    Scheduled to be launched at Expo 2023, the Hyundai Ioniq 5 is already open for bookings for a token amount of 1 lakh. The Ioniq 5 is Hyundai’s maiden battery electric vehicle that will be based on the company’s global electric modular platform (E-GMP). The Electric SUV will get a permanent magnet synchronous motor mated with a 72.6kWh battery and will offer an output of 217PS/350Nm. The Ioniq 5 range is claimed to be 631 Km that is absolutely superb.

  3. MG4 Electric Hatchback

    Jumping into the pool of EVs, MG Motors India is all set to showcase the MG4 electric hatchback at the Expo 2023. Recently scoring full five starts at the Euro NCAP safety tests, the MG4 Electric comes in comfort, luxury and standard variants. Topped with MG Pilot and top-notch safety features such as lane keep assist, intelligent high beam assist, driver attention alert, adaptive cruise control and active emergency braking, the MG4 electric hatchback will be a force to reckon with if launched in India.

  4. Kia EV9 Electric SUV Concept

    Based on the E-GMP architecture, Kia India is set to unveil the EV9 electric SUV at the Expo 2023. The EV9 offers camera monitoring systems, a panoramic sunroof, 22-inch machined wheels, a digital tiger face and a lot more. Claimed to deliver a range of 483 km, the EV9 will bring in next-generation ultra-fast charging tech and a 350 kW charger that can charge the EV from 10-80% in 20 to 30 minutes.

  5. MG Marvel R Electric SUV

    Other than the MG4 electric hatchback, MG will also unveil the MG Marvel R Electric SUV at the Auto Expo 2023. In terms of specs, the Europe-spec Marvel R gets three variants – Comfort, Luxury and Performance. While the first two variants come powered by a dual-motor, rear-wheel-drive setup, producing 178hp and 410Nm of peak torque, helping the SUV to sprint from 0-100 in 7.9 seconds. The performance variant on the other hand, gets an additional electric motor on the front axle, generating total output of 285hp and 664Nm. A 70kWh battery pack onboard offers a range of 370-400km for the EV, depending on the drivetrain.

  6. MG Air EV

    Up MG’s sleeve is also the MG Air EV, the brand’s two-door Air EV in its concept form. Reports hint that the brand is expected to announce the AIR EV 2-door electric vehicle prices before the end of the first quarter. The Air EV measures a mere 2.9 metres in length and will be offered as a modern, affordable, tech-topped, urban commuter. Likely to be equipped with a 20 to 25 kWh battery pack that can offer a good range of 200 to 250 km.
