It seems like times are not good for HMSI better known as Honda Motorcycles and Scooter India as the brand has issued a recall for several of its models.
The models affected by the faulty reflector issues include Honda Activa 5G, Honda Activa 6G, Honda Activa 125, CB Shine, Hornet 2.0, X-Blade, H’Ness CB350 and the CB 300R. However, the total number of units recalled still remain unknown. The recall consists of models manufactured between November 2019 and January 2021.
What is the issue?
- The reason cited for the call is due to a faulty reflector placed at the fork and causing high vibrations.
- This also causes insufficient light reflection which may lead to lesser visibility in the dark
- Although, a senior official from the brand has claimed that this does not impact the vehicle visibility.
According to the brand, all the recalled models are being attended at authorised and the affected part will be changes free of cost, irrespective of the warranty status of the recalled vehicle.
According to the guidelines issued by HMSI, it will reach out to customers via call, emails or SMS for inspection of the vehicle and replacement if need be. Similarly, customers can also enter the VIN on the company website. All suspected spare parts stock at HMSI dealerships/ parts distributors are also being recalled. Honda CB300R and H’ness CB350 customers will be required to visit a Honda BigWing dealership for replacing the affected reflector(s).
