A car isn’t just a machine. It is an integral part of us, much like our second home. But have you ever seen luxury vehicles kept abandoned on roads or near a police station? Well, we know you have, since it is a common sight, especially in metropolitans like Delhi, Mumbai, and Chennai etc. But the million-dollar question is, that why are those luxury beauties gathering dust, parked in a sorry state. In this article, we will try to answer this, through 10 luxury and exotic vehicles that are painfully impounded and why.

1. Mumbai’s BMW Z4
   

   

   The Mira Road Police Station in Mumbai is home to an exotic BMW Z4 that is now a breeding ground for dust and all kinds of rodents. As per information, the vehicle belongs to a notorious drug dealer who was recently arrested by the Mumbai Police which later impounded the drug dealer’s beloved BMW Z4 that made its way into the Mira Road PS compound.

2. Bangalore’s Rolls Royce Ghost
   

   

   A beautiful first-generation Rolls Royce Ghost has been gathering dust in a police station in Bangalore for quite some time now. As per hearsay information, the blue coloured beauty is most likely impounded due to non-payment of taxes and financial wrongdoing, which led to the RR Ghost being “Ghosted”.

3. Virat Kohli’s Audi R8
   

   

   India ki shaan Virat Kohli is known to own some kickass luxury vehicles. But not all of his vehicles are proudly parked in his garage. Recently his previously owned Audi R8 was spotted in a sorry state in a police station in Thane. The reason behind this bad boy found its home in a police station is due to a fraud committed by the individual who bought the car from Kohli. As per information, the R8 has been through flood damaging during heavy rains, and legend has it that the vehicle had floated from one end of the station to the other. (Quite a roadster we must say xD)

4. The Evo X, RR Phantom, Hummer H2, Aston Martin Vantage and Nissan GT-R
   

   

   Quite a collection we must say was found in South Indian actress Leena Maria Paul’s south Delhi farmhouse back in 2013 when she was arrested. Convicted in a cheating case that amounted to over 20 Crores, Maria’s exotic car collection was brutally impounded and sent to various police stations in both Delhi as well as Chennai. With the suspicion that these cars were stolen by her boyfriend and accomplice Chandrashekhar, they were attached to the then-ongoing investigation and sent to the police station from where they never returned.

5. The Lamborghini Gallardo, RR Ghost, Ferrari 430, and Hummer H2
   

   

   The luxury in this very collection is beyond imagination. And all these beauties belonged to Kerala-based businessman Mohammad Nisham. The worst part however is that each vehicle is linked to an offence that is graver than the last one. With the Gallardo, Nisham allegedly attempted to run down a resident who used to complain about the loud noise from the vehicle’s exhaust. The Ferrari 43- was impounded when a video went viral showing Nisham letting his 9-year-old son driving it while his other son riding the shotgun. As for the Hummer, it was used by the businessman to ram it repeatedly into his security guard, killing him for not opening the gate on time!

   

6. A fleet of 10 Sports Cars Including Porsche, Lamborghini and Ferrari
   

   

   Yes, you read it right. As many as 10 sports cars including the likes of Porsche, Lambo and Ferrari were impounded back in 2017 near the Kanathur Police Station in Chennai. The fleet was allegedly involved in multiple scenarios of racing, rash and negligent driving and even drunk driving. When the owners failed to corporate and show papers, the vehicles were impounded on the spot and were seized by the Chennai police.

7. The Bentley Continental Supersports
   

   

   A black coloured Bentley Continental Supersports registered in Delhi, has found its way all the way into the compound behind the DRI building in Mumbai. As per the information, the vehicle was involved in multiple revenue offences as a result of which the Directorate of Revenue Intelligence impounded the same from Delhi.

8. The Ferrari 575 M
   

   

   Known to be India’s only Ferrari 575 M, this beauty was imported back in 2004 and was registered as a Taxi (Yes you are reading it right) to save taxes. But owing to the financial wrongdoings of the owner, the vehicle was impounded and later sold to a car collector and businessman in Bangalore, who is keeping the car with love.

9. Bentley Arnage R and Continental Flying Spur
   

   

   Dilip Chhabria is a well-known name, thanks to his trademark “DC” design. Problems however began for DC when the Joint Commissioner of Police (Crime) found as many as 90 DC Avanti’s involved in fraudulent financing. What followed was a series of investigation and Chhabria’s arrest. The Bentley Arnage R and Continental Flying Spur are two of the many vehicles that were impounded under investigation and now lie in Mumbai’s custom office compound.

10. Rolls Royce Ghost, Porsche Panamera
    

    

    Belonging to the much-publicized fraudster Nirav Modi, these exotic vehicles were impounded and attached in recovery proceedings against Modi. Unlike other supercars on our list, these two were lucky enough to be auctioned rather than ending up as a breeding ground for rodents.
