Maruti Suzuki S-Presso To Get A CNG Option | Auto Expo 2020

As predicted Maruti Suzuki has launched its S-Presso with the company’s first BS6 compliant CNG engines. The micro SUV with the new fuel option was showcased in Auto Expo 2020.

The engine is nothing new and a standard for CNG cars.

  • S-Presso will have a 1.0Litre Three-cylinder naturally-aspirated BS6 engine.
  • The engine outputs 57bhp which is 10 less than the petrol engine.
  • The company fitted CNG will have a 5-speed manual transmission.
  • This is the same R1.0 engine which sees its current use in by Celerio, Wagon R, Alto K10 and Celerio X but its the BS4 version.

  • Maruti Suzuki S-Presso features body-coloured bumpers and roof antenna and full wheel covers are available externally.
  • Distance-to-empty fuel consumption, headlamp on warning, gearshift indicator display on the instrument cluster is provided with the micro SUV.
  • For all your music needs it has a two-speaker audio system with Bluetooth, USB & Aux support.
  • Remote keyless entry, SmartPlay Dock, central door locking, speed-sensitive door lock and accessory socket are some of the other available features.
  • S-Presso also comes with side body cladding, power steering, sun visor, digital driver information display and an AC unit.

Maruti Suzuki S-Presso | Safety Features

In the safety department, the S-Presso is lacking and there are no new features added in the CNG variant either.

  •  Driver-side airbag, ABS with EBD, front seatbelt reminder, reverse parking sensors and speed alert are the only safety features available.

After the company’s decision to shut down production of Alto-K10  S-Presso will have to take its place in the market and to cement this even further Maruti released the CNG variant to make it more accessible for everyone.

  1. It would have been a hot cake, if the CNG Option is available in Automatic variants too. Exclusively meant for budget friendly city ride.
